WWE has a found storylines going on right now, but it seems that they’ve dropped the idea of SmackDown Live losing in a clean sweep to Raw at Survivor Series. Of course, the blue team did pull down a win in the tag team elimination match during the kickoff show, but apparently, that doesn’t count.
But as of right now, it seems like WWE is featuring all of the same players, but they’re ignoring the overall theme of Survivor Series.
“They just want to build around Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair and TLC and all that,” Dave Meltzer said on Wrestling Observer Radio when asked why WWE hasn’t followed up with SmackDown’s Survivor Series defeat.

“Yep, there was nothing. I heard that it was gonna be in January. I don’t know, I can’t. They’re not good at following up on stories to say the least, and even if there was like a plan to follow up half the time they change their mind anyway, so they may have done that and had a follow-up and Vince just changed his mind and was like, ‘Well,  no one remembers anyway.’ So I don’t know.”

None of this might make much sense and it could very well be contributing to what is frustrating WWE fans so much and causing record low numbers at a time when WWE needs to be interesting and cause people to tune in.
Only time will tell if WWE has some major mind-blowing angle prepared for 2019 that will run through WrestleMania, but at this point, it’s never a good idea to put much faith in WWE’s promise to keep up stories.
