Fenix is one of the best indie wrestlers on the planet and depending on who you ask, he might be the best. But at this time, as we previously reported, he seems to be out of action for a while due to injury.
Dave Meltzer clarified what type of injury he has and how much time he is expected to be away during Wrestling Observer Radio. This is a shame for the 27-year-old luchador because 2018 was a great year for his career to end on this kind of a sour note.

“So that match was a hell of a match, that match was last night in Arena Mexico. It was Fenix and El Barbaro Cavernario for the Leyenda de Plata Tournament 2 out of 3 fall match. So Fenix got hurt. I don’t know how he got hurt but it’s like a groin injury so he’s going to be out for the rest of the year which is too bad because he’s got all of these great matches.”

It looks like Fenix taking the rest of the year off means he has to cancel some amazing matches. He had a very busy schedule ahead of him which was pretty much nonstop. But at this stage in his career, if he’s injured then he needs to take as much time off as he can to fix himself because he has a very bright future ahead of him.
