MLW Tag Team Champion and Impact Wrestling wrestler Rey Fenix of the Lucha Bros is out for the remainder of 2018 with a groin injury, as PWInsider, by way of Lucha Central, reports.
Fenix was reportedly injured while wrestling Cavemario at the Leyenda de Plata tournament for the CMLL promotion. The extent of the injury is currently unknown, though we are already in late November so it may only take him out of action for a brief period of time.
Regardless of this, it is expected that this injury will affect the creative plans for MLW, who are in the midst of teasing a new television deal for their upcoming promotion.
Alongside Pentagon Jr., Fenix has been in the news due to his involvement in up-and-coming promotions and the consistent talk of the Lucha Bros making their way to WWE. It remains to be seen if this affects his popularity on the independents.
It is also worth noting that Fenix has been active on social media. At the time of writing, Fenix last tweeted a few hours ago. He would go on to reply to Rey Mysterio, who showcased a new jersey as his profile picture.

If any further news on Fenix’s injury becomes available, we’ll be sure to update you. We wish him the best of success in his recovery.
