Rey Mysterio is finally back with WWE and is currently an integral part of the SmackDown Live roster. In fact, he was one of the five members of Team SmackDown during Survivor Series. While things may have not gone in his favor during that bout, things are looking up for Mysterio elsewhere.
According to PWInsider, the luchador has now applied for a trademark on the term “Principe Mysterio” which translates to “Prince Mysterio.” This trademark was applied for on 11/14 and is likely to be based around Mysterio’s son, Dominic Gutierrez.
Gutierrez is currently training with Lance Storm with permission from his father to prepare to enter the squared circle. If Gutirrez is half as talented as his father, he will likely be a major player in the wrestling industry over the next decade.
It is important to note that Mysterio himself has not confirmed the ideas behind the trademark, though this is standard procedure to ensure he can obtain the trademark. If the trademark is not used on his son, it is unknown what Mysterio intends to do. Given he is with WWE, they usually take care of the trademarks as it pertains to their talent.
