WWE Superstars need to be able to have a certain amount of teaching and experience under their belts before they can really take off and be well-rounded talents. This is one of the biggest reasons why the WWE Performance Center is so important.
Gabe Sapolsky recently spoke to Mike Johnson on PW Insider Elite audio about EVOLVE’s intention with bringing in NXT Superstars for their show. After all, Gabe words for NXT as well and knows what these talents need to help them grow. Some might not need an EVOLVE event while others might not have been able to experience such an event coming into the WWE Performance Center like they did.

“The guys who haven’t really done the indies, that’s why I’m really interested in, you know? Like Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch were discussed about coming to EVOLVE. I was like, ‘Well, you know they’ve done the indies. They’ve proven everything they can on the indies. Maybe bring them both in on a guest spot because they’re both tremendous talents but they’re not going to learn anything or benefit from the ‘indie experience’ so there’s that aspect of it.”

Sapolsky also said that he’s changed as a booker in the past 3 years and after William Regal took interest in them a few years ago, that really helped things.
Gabe wants to help develop talent instead of just book big shows. It’s important to realize what a talent might need to help give them a more well-rounded appeal. Obviously, NXT’s partnership with EVOLVE is also intended for helping some of those NXT Superstars get an experience that they might not have been able to have before.
