WWE’s NXT show has taken off an created a fan base of its own. Some fans regard TakeOver events as better than the WWE pay-per-views to follow and their weekly television show is a highly viewed weekly show on the WWE Network. Now it looks like WWE wants to take it up a notch.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that there are those in the company who are pushing to extend NXT’s weekly television show by an hour. This would still secure a 3-hour weekly Wednesday night block on the WWE Network after the Mae Young Classic is over with, but that is of course if 205 Live, in fact, remains on Wednesday and not “live.”
With a new Fox Sports deal approaching in one year’s time and rumors of needing to fill timeslots on FS1 and FS2, you never know what WWE could be planning.
But apparently, the thinking is that with such an amazing roster of talent on NXT they will not only increase the television show time but also the time allotted for TakeOver specials. Some fans might not like this idea because they really enjoy everything about NXT as it already is, but apparently, they are batting around the idea and some, although they are unnamed are pushing for it.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
