Who’s Idea Was It To Bring Starrcade Back?

According to PWInsider, Michael Hayes’ was the individual behind the idea to bring back the WCW Starrcade event as a branded WWE Live Event.

Hayes reportedly made the pitch back in June when he released WWE was running an event in Greensboro over Thanksgiving weekend. Vince McMahon approved the idea and the announcement was eventually made several months later.

Hayes had the duties of writing the show and focused on the names who were important to the market during the Jim Crockett Promotions. The show was never slated to be a WWE Network special but they did film it with several cameras so they would have it in their archives.

Due to the boost in ticket sales and the huge response to the event on social media, there is talk of doing the event again next year.
