Zayda Steel isn’t letting a broken nose slow her down. The AEW star revealed she’s currently dealing with the injury while talking about the championship she has her eyes on next—and she even threw out a challenge to TBS Champion Persephone.

Speaking with MuscleManMalcolm, Steel explained that the TBS Championship is one of the titles she wants most. She admitted that part of the motivation comes from her friendly rivalry with Maya World, who has managed to accomplish a few things before her.

“The TBS belt. Actually, you want to know why? Because Maya, my—well, she is my bestie, but, like, you know when you’re competitive with your friends? She got that Mercedes match first. She’s won gold first. “So, you know what, Maya? I’m right behind you. So, I’m coming for that TBS belt just like you did. But I love you. I love you. I just gotta, you know, I can’t let you have that over me.”

When the interviewer brought up Persephone as the current champion and suggested she might be a little intimidating, Steel couldn’t have sounded more unfazed. Instead, she pointed to some of the toughest opponents she’s already shared the ring with.

“I just wrestled a weird spider chick yesterday. I’m not afraid of anybody. I wrestled Megan Bane. I’ve wrestled Marina.”

That’s when she casually revealed she’s currently wrestling through a broken nose before throwing down a challenge for the champion.

“I get my ass beat like it’s nothing. Persephone, come on. My nose is broken, but once it heals, come try to break it again.”

Steel’s comments show she’s already thinking about what’s next rather than worrying about the injury. If anything, the broken nose only seemed to make her more eager to test herself against one of AEW’s top champions.

Would you like to see Zayda Steel get a shot at Persephone once she’s healed? Let us know where you stand.
