X-Pac welcomes Drew McIntyre to the show.
McIntyre says that from ten years of age he knew he was going to travel to the United States and join WWE. Growing up in Scotland at that time there weren’t a lot of options for professional wrestling hopefuls, but him and his generation of wrestlers started what he considers to be one of the strongest indie scenes in the world right now.
X-Pac asks McIntyre what the difference is between NXT today and FCW back in the day. McIntyre says it’s impossible to put the difference into words. There wasn’t a clear path from FCW to WWE back in the day, but today fans get to know talents in NXT and after a certain period of time it’s almost guaranteed that you’ll be given a chance on the main roster.
McIntyre says he really wanted to come back to WWE recently, and he specifically wanted to be a part of NXT so he was very happy when Triple H brought him in. He says the locker room is terrific right now, and it feels like a group mentality there. It doesn’t feel like a development territory at all, and he believes people really need to start recognizing it as WWE’s third brand.
