Jade Cargill dealt with backstage heat in WWE earlier this year, but a new update suggests company officials are now far more pleased with her progress inside the ring.

Over the past several months, Cargill’s name became part of backstage discussions following injuries involving B-Fab, Michin, and Tiffany Stratton after matches tied to the SmackDown star. Earlier reports claimed there were rumblings internally regarding her in-ring development and reputation among some talent. Back on a March 2, 2026 Q&A, WrestleVotes stated there had been noticeable heat surrounding Cargill backstage.

“As far as the reputation in the locker room, I’ve heard from a couple of different sources that there’s heat there. Not everyone’s favorite talent. She’s still a star — WWE clearly views her as a star. They’re protecting her and not throwing her into situations where she can’t succeed. But… we’ve heard that some talent may not.”

Sean Ross Sapp later addressed the situation as well during a Fightful Select Q&A, clarifying that while talent had discussed the trend of injuries, there was no confirmed office-level blame directed toward Cargill.

Now, however, the latest backstage update paints a far more positive picture. During the May 18, 2026 WrestleVotes Q&A, WrestleVotes and TC were asked directly whether WWE is impressed with Cargill’s in-ring work and whether the company still views her as a future top star. According to both men, the answer was a clear yes.

“As far as I know, they do. She’s been much better as of late.”

TC then revealed that while there were reportedly stern conversations behind the scenes months ago, WWE officials are now happy with the progress Cargill has made.

“Months ago, there was some heat on her—some stern conversations with people in power—but they’re happy with where she has progressed to. So yeah, she is progressing well, and they see her as a star.”

Since arriving in WWE, Cargill has consistently been presented like a featured attraction, with the company carefully protecting her presentation while continuing to develop her in-ring abilities. WWE has also kept her heavily involved in major television storylines, including her recent alliance with Michin and B-Fab as part of an ongoing SmackDown feud involving Rhea Ripley and others.

Bottom line: while Jade Cargill reportedly faced backstage criticism and tough conversations earlier this year, the latest update suggests WWE management is now very happy with her development — and the company still fully sees her as a major star moving forward.
