WWE wants to make it a lot easier to bring AAA wrestlers into the United States whenever they need them. The company is now working on securing new work visas for a number of AAA talents.
According to PWInsider, WWE is actively trying to get those visas through the company itself. The idea is pretty straightforward—if WWE wants an AAA wrestler for a show in the United States, the visa situation shouldn’t stand in the way.
A number of AAA wrestlers previously had work visas through Fillip, a minority owner of AAA out of Mexico. WWE is now working to get new visas for several of those talents under its own umbrella. There’s no word yet on exactly which wrestlers are part of the process, but getting more AAA talent cleared to work in the United States would give WWE considerably more freedom when putting shows together.
WWE has continued bringing the two worlds closer together since acquiring AAA, and sorting out visas is another practical part of making that relationship work. If the company suddenly wants an AAA name for WWE television or a U.S.-based AAA event, having them ready to go makes things way easier.
