The October 2 episode of Friday Night SmackDown will build towards the Money in the Bank Premium Live Event. That’s exactly why WWE has put together a solid lineup to keep fans entertained from start to finish.
Men’s Money in the Bank Qualifying Match: Cody Rhodes vs. Kevin Owens vs. Johnny Gargano
One spot remains in the Men’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match, and three pretty big names want it. Cody Rhodes, Kevin Owens and Johnny Gargano will meet in the final Triple Threat qualifier, with the winner grabbing the last ticket to New Orleans. For Cody, this is an opportunity to quickly get himself back into the World Championship picture after losing to Randy Orton at Saturday Night’s Main Event. Owens and Gargano have exactly the same prize sitting in front of them, though, and neither needs to pin both opponents to steal the final spot. So we’ll have to see who will win in the end.
Women’s Money in the Bank Qualifying Match: Tiffany Stratton vs. Tatum Paxley vs. Candice LeRae
The women have one spot left too. Tiffany Stratton, Tatum Paxley and Candice LeRae will square off against each other in another Triple Threat match, with the winner becoming the final entrant in the Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match. So it remains to be seen who’ll advance once and for all.
Giulia vs. Blake Monroe
Giulia and Blake Monroe have tried to have this match before. Actually getting them into the ring has been the problem. After Giulia failed to qualify for Money in the Bank last week, Monroe confronted her backstage and started taunting her over the loss. Giulia wasn’t interested in hearing it, and things quickly turned into a fight before officials stepped in. Nick Aldis has apparently had enough of the two attacking each other and booked them in a singles match tonight. So fans are waiting to see who’ll pick up the win this week.
