WWE had a pretty interesting plan lined up for AAA in New York City later this year, but that plan is apparently off the table.
According to WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select, AAA was originally scheduled to run the Hammerstein Ballroom on November 14, with additional television content from the tapings set to air on November 21 and November 28.
“We’ve learned that as of the initial 2026 AAA taping schedule, which was finalized back in February, there was a very unique and exciting date on the books. Sources indicated that the November 14 live edition of AAA, along with subsequent television tapings airing November 21 and November 28, were set to take place in New York City at the world-famous Hammerstein Ballroom.”
That would have brought AAA into one of wrestling’s most recognizable buildings, but somewhere along the way, things changed. WrestleVotes contacted a source at the Manhattan Center this week and was told that November 14 is no longer on the venue’s calendar. The event has also reportedly been removed from the building’s internal schedule.
“However, that plan now appears to have changed. We spoke with a source at the Manhattan Center this week who told us that the November 14 date is no longer on the venue’s calendar and that the event has been removed from their internal schedule.”
So what happened? Apparently WWE has something much bigger in mind for AAA and New York. A WWE source confirmed that Hammerstein was indeed the original plan, but the company is now looking to concentrate its New York efforts around WrestleMania weekend instead.
“When we reached out to a WWE source regarding the change, we were told that while the November 14 taping was indeed initially the plan, it appears the company is now looking to focus on the New York City market during WrestleMania weekend, with AAA Eternal Glory now taking place as part of the weekend festivities within Madison Square Garden.”
That’s a pretty serious venue upgrade. Instead of bringing AAA to Hammerstein in November, the current direction would put AAA Eternal Glory inside Madison Square Garden as part of WrestleMania weekend. For now, the November 14 Hammerstein date appears to be gone. AAA may have lost one pretty cool New York show, but if the new plan holds, WWE is swapping it for a considerably bigger stage.
