It’s Monday night, and you know what that means! WWE RAW will go down tonight, and Ringside News has got you covered with live play-by-play results coverage for the December 9, 2024 episode.

The show opens up with Joe Tessitore welcoming us, while we get a drone shot of the host city. We then see the arrivals of Seth “Freakin” Rollins, Rhea Ripley, The Judgment Day (Raquel Rodriguez, WWE Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan and “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio), Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods. Kingston and Woods get the cold shoulder from production crew members. Kingston then tries to fist bump with Alpha Academy, but they and Natalya also give them the cold shoulder.
Imperium’s WWE World Heavyweight Champion “The Ring General” GUNTHER is then introduced by ring announcer Lilian Garcia and GUNTHER makes his way down to the ring to address the WWE Universe, while video footage is shown of Finn Bálor attacking GUNTHER on last week’s show to set up their match at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
GUNTHER starts off by saying Bálor made a mistake and now has his undivided attention. GUNTHER then says he guarantees that Saturday Night’s Main Event will not end up like Survivor Series did for him. The Judgment Day’s music then hits and Finn Bálor made his way out with Dominik Mysterio, Carlito and JD McDonagh. Bálor says GUNTHER could have given him the title shot he deserved, but instead he gave it to someone undeserving in Dominik. Bálor then agrees that Saturday Night’s Main Event won’t be like Survivor Series and then takes credit for GUNTHER retaining the title at Survivor Series. Bálor then says GUNTHER will lose the title on Saturday because of him. GUNTHER then says Bálor didn’t earn his title shot. GUNTHER then says Bálor is frustrated and he gets it. GUNTHER then recalls Bálor being the first Universal Champion. GUNTHER then says he respected Bálor at that time, but then he started taking shortcuts and now hangs out with a bunch of weirdos in a clubhouse. GUNTHER then says Bálor played second fiddle to Daman Priest. GUNTHER then says Bálor was best in the world for one night eight years ago. GUNTHER then says he is the best in the world now and for thousands of days to come. GUNTHER then says his title belt proves it. GUNTHER then says Bálor won’t leave with the title because he’s not at his level and he never will be. Bálor and the rest of The Judgment Day then climbs up the ring apron. Damian Priest’s music then hits and Priest made his way out. Priest and GUNTHER then both take shots at Bálor inside the ring. GUNTHER then clotheslines Priest and works him over. GUNTHER then set up for a powerbomb on Priest at ringside, but Bálor breaks it up with a sling blade clothesline. Bálor then hits GUNTHER with a Coup de Grace from the apron. Priest then recovers and got the better of The Judgment Day. Priest then sets up for a double chokeslam on Dominik and McDonagh, but Bálor hits him from behind. The Judgment Day then holds Priest, while GUNTHER hits him with a shotgun dropkick. Bálor then follows it up with three more Coup de Graces on Priest. Bálor then holds up the World Heavyweight Championship and his World Tag Team Title belt.
The Final Testament and The Miz are then shown walking backstage. We then get a graphic listing the RAW debut on Netflix on January 6.
Joe Tessitore then hypes Jesse Ventura appearing on Saturday Night’s Main Event.
We then head to the back, where RAW General Manager Adam Pearce informs Finn Bálor and the other Judgment Day members that the World Heavyweight Championship Match on Saturday Night’s Main Event has now changed. Pearce announces that it will be GUNTHER vs. Finn Bálor vs. Damian Priest in a Triple Threat Match. Pearce also books Finn Bálor and JD McDonagh vs. The Viking Raiders for the WWE World Tag Team Titles for next week’s RAW and says the other members of The Judgment Day are banned from ringside. After Pearce leaves, Liv Morgan mockingly tells Finn Bálor to relax because he has everything under control. Morgan then asks if he has any advice for her and Raquel Rodriguez heading into their matches. Bálor then tells her he will get back to her on that.
The Final Testament and The Miz then make their way down to the ring for the first match of the night and The Wyatt Sicks follow.
The match starts off by The Wyatts storming the ring and clearing it. Uncle Howdy then has Karrion Kross in a Sister Abigail, but gets pulled to the outside by The Miz. The Final Testament are in control and Joe Gacy gets hits a double-team move by AOP. Rezar taunts the Wyatts and drags Gacy to his feet and gets him the corner. Gacy then hits Rezar with a boot, but can’t make the tag. Rezar then drags him away, but Gacy hits a clothesline and makes the tag to Erick Rowan. Rowan then clears the ring and hits Akam and The Miz with a double basement dropkick to the outside. Rowan then taunts The Final Testament and The Miz is waiting for him when he gets back in the ring, but Rowan puts Miz down for a two count. AOP are back in the ring and they hit Rowan with a double powerbomb. Lumis and Gacy then hit AOP with superkicks, Gacy then hits a suicide dive to the outside of the ring and Lumis comes off the top to the outside. Rowan is back and Uncle Howdy wants the tag. Howdy clotheslines Miz and follows it up with a big move off the ropes. Miz then tries to run and escapes via a back elbow, then tags in to Kross. Howdy then clotheslines Kross outside the ring and poses. Howdy then goes for a move off the ropes, but gets tripped by Scarlett. Nikki Cross then appears behind her and terrifies her. Scarlett then escapes into the ring and tries to get the referee to help her. She then slides to the other side of the ring and out, but Kross hits a jumping crossbody off the steps. Miz then saves Kross from Sister Abigail again, but Howdy gets the Mandible Claw on Miz. Paul Ellering then throws powder in Howdy’s face, allowing Kross to hit The Final Prayer for the win.

We then see CM Punk in a sit-down interview with Jackie Redmond. Redmond asks Punk about the favor that Paul Heyman owes him. Punk says he and Heyman go way back and the favor is just between the two of them. Redmond then asks Punk about Seth Rollins. Punk says he doesn’t hide from fights. Punk then says he’s more confused than anything by Rollins’ hatred of him. Punk then says he doesn’t hate Rollins. Punk then says a 16 year-old Rollins came to him and asked Punk to train him. Punk then says he trained Rollins for free and people left that part out of the story. Punk then says he would probably hate himself if he had to live in his shadow. Punk then says he did everything that Rollins did before he did. Punk then says Rollins did a great job of filling in, but the starter is back now and the second-stringer has to sit on the bench. Redmond then thanks Punk for his honesty.
We then see The RAW on Netflix graphic flash on the screen.
We then get a video package recapping Raquel Rodriguez and Liv Morgan getting the better of Rhea Ripley last week and running her eye into the edge of the broadcast table.
Dakota Kai then makes her way down to the ring for the next match of the night and Liv Morgan follows. Joe Tessitore hypes Liv Morgan vs. IYO SKY for the WWE Women’s World Championship on SNME this Saturday.
The match starts off with Dakota Kai nearly getting an early pin before Liv Morgan sends her over the top. Morgan was in control of the match when Pure Fusion Collective make their way down to the ring. Both women then exchanges suplexes before Kai hits a forearm on Morgan. Kai then follows it up with two lariats and a dropkick. Kai then hits Morgan with a running boot in the corner. Kai then hangs Morgan over the rope and kicks her, then goes for a pin and gets a two. Kai then hits Morgan with a Scorpion Kick. Zoey Stark then tries to get involved and gets kicked for her efforts. Shayna Baszler gets kicked as well. Kai then goes for a pin on Morgan, but Morgan kicks out. Morgan then hits Kai with a facebuster and a running knee in the corner. Kai then powerbombs Morgan and hits a knee on Sonya Deville off the apron. This then allows Morgan to hit the Ob-LIV-ion for the win.

After the match, Sonya Deville, Shayna Baszler and Zoey Stark attacks Kai and roughs her up until IYO SKY and Kairi Sane makes the save. SKY then takes out Baszler and Stark with a dropkick. Sane then goes to the top and dives onto Deville, Baszler and Stark on the floor. Morgan then returns to the ring and hits the Ob-LIV-ion on SKY. Commentary then hypes Liv Morgan vs. IYO SKY on SNME, while Morgan stands over SKY.
We then get a video promo from Drew McIntyre. McIntyre says Hell in a Cell was the most violent match of his 24-year career. McIntyre then says he succumbed to massive blood loss. McIntyre then says he went against doctor’s orders by appearing on RAW. McIntyre then says he had to go back to Scotland because his family needed him. McIntyre then says he questioned whether he was wrong and that people can truly change. McIntyre then says he turned on Survivor Series and saw Roman Reigns with CM Punk along with Jey Uso, Sami Zayn and Jimmy Uso. McIntyre then says they all sold out for absolutely nothing. McIntyre then says that’s when he knew he had to return and when he knew he would take out Zayn and Jey. McIntyre then says he can’t change the past, but he can change the present and he will change the future.
Commentary then speaks at their desk. Tessitore says Jey Uso is not medically cleared to compete on tonight’s show due to the attack by McIntyre last week.
Seth Rollins is then shown walking backstage.
We then get a drone shot of the host venue, while Joe Tessitore says that legendary NFL running back Barry Sanders and Mr. Beast are Wichita natives.
We then get a video package recapping last week’s New Day 10th anniversary segment that saw Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods turn on Big E.
Undisputed WWE Champion “The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes is then shown exiting RAW General Manager Adam Pearce’s office with Pearce, while Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods shows up. Rhodes tells them that they should both be ashamed of themselves.
Seth “Freakin” Rollins then makes his way down to the ring to address the WWE Universe. Seth Rollins starts off by saying CM Punk has a career as a politician ahead of him. Rollins then says Punk’s interview was a master class in how to spin the truth. Rollins then says you take a little bit of truth and spin it to play the victim and Punk has been doing that his entire life. Rollins then says Punk was right in that he did go to him to get trained. Rollins then says he idolized Punk, who helped him get his foot in the door in WWE. Rollins then says he and Punk were friends. Rollins then says the part of Punk’s story that he left out will explain why he hates him. Rollins then says he called and texted Punk when he left the company and got nothing in return. Rollins then says it wasn’t just him, it was everyone in the company that Punk did this to. Rollins then says Punk spent the next ten years trying to tear the company down. Rollins then says Punk returned because he failed at everything else, burned every bridge that would lead him to water and because the money was right. A “CM Punk” chant then breaks out. Rollins then shakes his head and says he used to chant his name once upon a time too. Rollins then says he wanted to be just like him and follow in his footsteps, but he realized once day that Punk was a fraud and that made him want to be better than Punk. Rollins then says everything Punk did in pro wrestling he did twice. Rollins then says he also did the one thing that Punk can never do by headlining WrestleMania. Rollins is then interrupted by Sami Zayn’s entrance music.
Sami Zayn then makes his way down to the ring. A “Sami” chant then breaks out. Rollins then tells Zayn they will fight again if Zayn is there to defend Punk. Rollins then says he doesn’t want to hear it and doesn’t have time for it. Zayn then says they both said things last week and they ended up fighting in the ring. Zayn then says that’s bound to happen when they’ve known each other as long as they have. Zayn then says it was wrong of him to accuse Rollins of attacking Jey Uso and then apologizes. Rollins then says he is happy that Zayn brought that up. Rollins then says he and Zayn have been friends for 20 years and their kids play together. Rollins then asks why he was the first person that Zayn thought of when Jey was laid out. Zayn then says it’s because Rollins was talking like he was out of his mind last week. Zayn then says Rollins was talking like a person who blames everyone else for their actions. Zayn then says Rollins sounded less like himself and more like Drew McIntyre. Rollins then says he’s not McIntyre. Zayn then agrees and says Rollins is a better person than McIntyre. Zayn then says Punk brings out the worst in Rollins. Zayn then says maybe he shouldn’t have gotten involved. Zayn then says things between Punk and Rollins are worse than he thought possible. Zayn then tells Rollins that it’s his business and he can deal with it however he wants. Rollins then thanks Zayn, who asks Rollins if they are good. Rollins then tells Zayn they are good and he appreciates Zayn letting him handle his business with Punk. Rollins then says it seems like Zayn has some business with McIntyre that he needed to handle. Rollins then leaves the ring. Zayn then says that is good advice and he will take care of McIntyre. Zayn then says he isn’t going to run it back and listen to McIntyre say he’s right and everyone else is wrong for weeks on end. Zayn then says he has already spoken with Adam Pearce. Zayn then announces he will face McIntyre on Saturday Night’s Main Event. Zayn then says he will see McIntyre on Saturday and then drops the mic. Zayn then exits the ring and the camera follows him as he walks toward the back. Zayn then stops and looks at the stage and then McIntyre blindsides him. McIntyre then throws some punches at Zayn until producers and referees make their way out to pull him off.

We then get an ad for tomorrow’s NXT hyping Wes Lee vs. Je’Von Evans.
Zelina Vega then makes her way down to the ring for the next match of the night, while Ivy Nile is already in the ring. Lyra Valkyria then makes her way down to the ring last.
The match starts off with Zelina Vega dropkicking Ivy Nile out of the ring. Lyra Valkyria then tries to roll Zelina Vega up. Vega then takes control of the match and hits a 619. Nile then pulls Vega off the apron and goes for a cover on Valkyria. Nile then begins stomping on her. Valkyria then dropkicks both women through the ropes. Valkyria then follows it up with a tornado DDT and a Fisherman Suplex on Nile. Valkyria then puts Nile in a fireman’s carry, but Nile reverses it into an armbar. Valkyria then goes for a pin on Nile, but Nile kicks out. Both women then exchanges pins and Vega breaks up the pin. Vega then covers them both, but Nile rolls out of the ring. Vega then slides through the ropes to do a sunset flip on Nile. Vega then goes up top for a Meteora. Nile then breaks up a pin and sends Vega into the corner. Vega then hits a crossbody, but is caught. Nile then goes for a pin on Vega, but Valkyria breaks it up. Nile then suplexes Valkyria. Nile then hits a double German Suplex. Vega then hits a Code Red, but Valkyria breaks the pin and hits the Night Wing for the win.

After the match, the updated brackets show that Valkyria will face the winner of the Alba Fyre vs. Kairi Sane vs. Natalya match in the next round.
Rhea Ripley is then shown warming up backstage when Damian Priest shows up. Priest then tells Ripley “Eradicate.”
We then get video footage of Jey Uso and Sami Zayn presenting the MVP of the Big 12 Championship football game with a replica title belt.
We then head to the back, where Cathy Kelley asks Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods why they berated Big E. Kingston and Woods say they feel like it is an unbiased question and they will go explain it to the people face-to-face. Woods then takes the camera and follows Kingston through the backstage area and brought it to ringside. The fans then chant “New Day sucks.” Kingston then acts bothered by the chant and the fans’ boos grows even louder. Kingston then asks if the fans are really this mad over one day after they gave them ten years of positivity. Woods then acts like he is going to speak before stopping because of the boos. Woods then says we didn’t do anything to him. Kingston is also booed when he tries to speak. A “Big E” chant then breaks out, while Kingston and Woods speaks off-mic. Woods then starts to speak once again and is booed. Kingston and Woods then drops their microphones and leaves the ring, while the fans cheers their exit.
Commentary then runs through the lineup for Saturday Night’s Main Event. Rhea Ripley then makes her way down to the ring for the main event of the night.

Raquel Rodriguez then makes her way out and stands on the stage. Ripley then runs up and fights with Rodriguez into the crowd. Both women then eventually make it to the ring and the referee calls for the bell to start the match.
The match starts off with Rhea Ripley hitting Raquel Rodriguez with a kendo stick until Rodriguez takes it. Ripley then hits a dropkick on Rodriguez off the top rope before kicking her through the ropes. Ripley then goes to get a table, but Rodriguez sends her into the ringpost. Rodriguez then sends Ripley crashing across the commentary table. Both women then goes crashing to the mat due to a double kick. Ripley then hits Rodriguez with a clothesline and kicks her before throwing a chair at her. Rodriguez then catches it and Ripley hits her with a missile dropkick. Ripley then sends Rodriguez face first into the turnbuckle. Ripley then picks up Rodriguez and puts her through a chair, but Rodriguez reverses it and sends Ripley face first onto the chair. Rodriguez then hits Ripley in the midsection with the chair and covers her for a two. Ripley then piles chairs on each other and sets Rodriguez up for the Riptide, but Morgan makes her way down to the ring. Ripley then sends her into the ring. Rodriguez then hits a big boot on Ripley. Rodriguez then slams Ripley onto the chairs. Ripley then headbutts Rodriguez and sets up for the Riptide a second time, but Morgan jumps on her back. Ripley then sends her to the mat. Ripley then hits a back kick on Rodriguez. Morgan then hits Ripley with Ob-LIV-ion. IYO SKY then dropkicks Morgan and follows it up with a suicide dive. Rodriguez then covers Ripley, but Ripley kicks out. Rodriguez then sets up a table in the ring and picks up Ripley. Ripley then escapes and sends Rodriguez’s face first into a chair set up between the ropes. Ripley then hits the Riptide on Rodriguez through the table for the win.

After the match, Ripley and SKY both picks up Morgan’s Women’s World Championship simultaneously and have some words with each other as the show comes to a close.
