Many people dream of joining WWE, but only a few actually get the chance. Byron Saxton was lucky to train for over five years in FCW and NXT to become a WWE Superstar. Even though things didn’t work out for him as a wrestler back then, it appears he is now interested in returning to the ring after 13 years.

While speaking to Metro, Byron Saxton talked about being forced to retire from in-ring competition back in 2012. He said he still feels the urge to compete and hasn’t ruled out a return to the ring.

Satxon explained that the energy from the crowd and the excitement of performing never really go away. While he’s at peace with not wrestling, he admitted there’s still a part of him that misses throwing punches in the ring.

“Of course, we all hear the famous quote all the time, “Never say never”, right? Which is true. So I will not say never, because the one thing anyone who steps in the ring can tell you is that that bug, that rush that you get from the crowd, never leaves you.

Are you at peace with not competing? Sure. Are you okay with not competing? Yes. However, there’s. Always that little part of you that misses just getting a bunch of someone in the face. So, you never know.”

When asked if a return is realistic after more than a decade, Byron stated that he stays in decent shape, but getting ready to actually wrestle again would take a different level of training. Nonetheless, he kept the door open, saying you never know what the future holds and that’s part of what makes life exciting.

“I like to believe that I maintain a respectable level of physical conditioning. But of course, if I were to actually consider getting in the ring, that’s a completely different level of conditioning, as opposed to hopping on a treadmill or elliptical. But, you know, listen – I never know what tomorrow brings, and that’s the beauty of life.”

Byron Saxton may have swapped the ring for the commentary table years ago, but his passion for wrestling hasn’t gone away. Even though he’s happy doing what he does now, he hasn’t completely closed the door on getting back in the ring. Therefore, it remains to be seen whether Saxton will make his in-ring return after 13 years in the future.
