Tonight’s WWE NXT airing April 29, 2025, promises an action-packed night live from the Capitol Wrestling Center (WWE Performance Center) in Orlando, Florida. The show sees WWE NXT North American Champion Ricky Saints defend his championship against Lexis King. Plus, WWE NXT Tag Team Champions Hank & Tank (Hank Walker and Tank Ledger) defend their titles against Josh Briggs and Yoshiki Inamura.
The show kicks off at 8:00 PM ET on the CW and is available for international fans on streaming platforms like Netflix. The show opens up with a video package recapping last week’s episode of NXT and last week’s TNA Rebellion, where Trick Williams attacks TNA World Champion Joe Hendry.
Vic Joseph, WWE Hall of Famer Booker T and Corey Graves then welcomes us to the show. TNA World Champion Joe Hendry’s music then hits and he makes his way down to the ring.
Hendry starts off by saying if you say his name, then he appears. Hendry then gloats about facing Randy Orton at WrestleMania 41 and retaining the TNA World Championship at Rebellion, then addresses Trick Williams and calls him arrogant. Hendry then says Williams was unable to win back the NXT Championship from Oba Femi and thought he could just take a shot at him, then calls Williams out to the ring.
DarkState’s music then hits and they appear before Dion Lennox, Osiris Griffin, Cutler James and Saquon Shugars attack Hendry.
We then head to the back, where NXT General Manager Ava welcomes WWE Women’s World Champion IYO SKY back to NXT. Jordynne Grace then shows up to volunteer to be SKY’s tag partner against Giulia and Roxanne Perez.
We then get a replay of Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez defending their tag team championships last week. We then see Karmen Petrovic praising Gigi Dolin and Tatum Paxley about almost beating Liv and Raquel as well as not getting pinned at Rebellion when they went after the Knockouts Tag Titles. Tatum says they deserve another shot because they weren’t pinned at Rebellion. Ashante “Thee” Adonis then shows up and catches Karmen off guard, saying that he got her a title match against Sol Ruca on this week’s NXT.
Lexis King then makes his way down to the ring for the first match of the night and Ricky Saints follows.
The match starts off with both men wasting no time in going after each other. King then blindsides Saints from behind. Saints then hits a dropkick on King off the middle rope, then delivers some strikes on him and nails him with a back elbow. Saints then delivers more strikes on King and hits a belly-to-belly throw on him before hitting a dropkick on him through the middle rope.
Saints and King then return inside the ring and King hits a chop on Saints in the corner. Saints then looks to suplex King into the ring from the apron, but both men nail one another with crossbodies. King then climbs to the top rope and hits a Swanton Bomb on Saints, then follows it up with a Lung Blower on him off his shoulders and nails him with a couple of clotheslines. Saints then sends King crashing into the mat with a slam, then hits him with a Tornado DDT and the Roshambo for the win.

We then head to the back, where The Culling is sitting in a dark room and Shawn Spears gives advise to his group. Spears talks about all three of them experiencing failure, but they should let their failures teach them. Saints then says he understands that the women’s roster Izzi Dame is in is deep, but Izzi needs to stand out from the pack by ripping the spotlight away from someone else and putting it on herself. Spears then says Jensen and Vance need to become more cohesive to face Hank and Tank. Spears then says he’s here for all of them and all they need to do is rise up and seize control.
We then get a replay of Stacks betraying Tony D’Angelo at NXT Stand & Deliver.
Tony D’Angelo’s music then hits and he makes his way down to the ring. D’Angelo starts off by saying he never expected Stacks to turn his back at him at Stand & Deliver, but he did expect him to have a conversation man to man. D’Angelo then says he keeps thinking back to when he and Stacks were kids and how he always stepped in when Stacks needed it both at school and in the streets. D’Angelo then says he rewarded Stacks by giving him the opportunity to show what he could do as The Underboss, but he also acted impulsively as part of The Family. D’Angelo then says Stacks waited for the right moment at Stand & Deliver to stab him in the back.
Stacks then appears on the big screen and says he thought about coming to the ring tonight, then tells D’Angelo that he was sick of taking orders and was becoming soft. Stacks then says he had to take the reins himself and put D’Angelo in place and he knows that D’Angelo is shaken now that Adriana Rizzo is in hiding and Luca Crusifino is gone. Stacks then questions if D’Angelo can trust anyone. The security on the outside of the ring then begin to attack D’Angelo at Stacks’ behest, but D’Angelo takes them down and tells Stacks to come there and handle business himself.
Sol Ruca and ZARIA are then shown walking in the hallways backstage.
We then get a replay of Noam Dar returning to NXT last week and winning back the NXT Heritage Cup Championship. Noam Dar and Oro Mensah are then celebrating backstage. Lash Legend and Jakara Jackson then show up to congratulate Noam for winning the title. Oro wants a reunion, but Lash gets serious and says Oro has been killing it in EVOLVE, while she and Jakara are killing it in the tag division. Lash then says Oro needs to do things on his own in EVOLVE, while she and Jakara need to do things on their own two. Noam then says if they have to all go their separate ways, then it’s what it has to be. All four of them then wiggle their fingers together and went their separate ways. Noam then sits down and tells the Heritage Cup, “It’s just you and me again.”
Sol Ruca and ZARIA then make their way down to the ring for the next match of the night and Karmen Petrovic and Ashante Adonis are already waiting inside.
The match starts off with both women wasting no time in going after each other and locking up. Both women then go back and forth and Ruca sends Petrovic into the corner, then hits a kick on her chest and sets up for Sol Snatcher. Petrovic then blocks it, but Ruca manages to hit the Sol Snatcher after going for it a second time for the win.

After the match, Adonis tries to comfort Petrovic, but Petrovic hits a roundhouse kick on Adonis.
Trick Williams is then shown walking in the backstage area.
Trick Williams’ music then hits and he makes his way down to the ring. Williams then grabs a mic and starts off by saying he has been calling Joe Hendry’s name all night long and he hasn’t appeared and he’s lucky DarkState got to Hendry before he could. Williams then promotes his appearance on the television show “All American” as he reminisces about being in Los Angeles whilst appearing at Rebellion, then says while he is Hollywood Hendry is local talent. Williams then says while Hendry tries figuring out his lane in the business, he is in the same lane as The Rock and John Cena. Williams then addresses Oba Femi and says he wants his NXT Championship back.
Ava’s music then hits and she makes her way out. Ava says nothing will ever be enough for Williams and he even went to another company. Ava then questions what Williams is doing and Williams says that while he thought he was NXT, he realized that he was bigger than that. Ava then informs Williams that there will be a #1 Contender’s 25 Man Battle Royal for the NXT Championship and says Williams will get his next title shot if he can win that. Ava then says the winner of that match will face Oba Femi for the title at Battleground.
We then see Roxanne Perez having a conversation with Giulia. Perez says she isn’t the biggest fan of Giulia after she took the title from her. Giulia then cuts off Perez and says Perez was a great champion and the both of them teaming up will be unstoppable.
WWE NXT Tag Team Champions Hank & Tank then make their way down to the ring for the next match of the night.
We then head to the back, where Kelly Kincaid is interviewing WWE NXT Champion Oba Femi about next week’s Battle Royal. Oba says Trick complaints sound like the cries of a child. Oba then says if Trick can win he will face him at Battleground. Oba then says it doesn’t matter if he faces Trick many times, he will still walk out of Battleground the champion. The Undertaker then shows up to tell Oba that this is Oba’s yard now. Taker then introduces Oba to his LFG mentees and says they are coming after Oba. Oba then shakes Taker’s hand and says he is looking forward to the challenge.
Josh Briggs and Yoshiki Inamura then make their way down to the ring for the next match of the night.
The match starts off with Inamura and Ledger and Inamura nails Ledger. Inamura then delivers some stomps on Ledger, but Walker tags in and hits a splash on Inamura in the corner. He then follows it up with a Bulldog and Ledger hits a senton on Inamura. Ledger then tags back in and double teams on Inamura with Walker.
Briggs then tags in and double teams on Ledger with Inamura. Briggs and Ledger then exchange right hands, but Inamura tags back in and nails Walker with a double back elbow. Inamura then delivers some alternating forearms and chops on Ledger in the corner before Briggs tags back in and hits a boot on Ledger. Inamura then tags in and hits a double bodyslam on Ledger with Briggs. Inamura then hits a double chop on Ledger’s spine, but Walker tags in and nails Inamura with a right hand. Walker then turns Inamura inside out with a clothesline, then hits a splash on him in the corner and sends him crashing into the top turnbuckle.
Walker tags in and flies off the ropes to land on Inamura, then tags Ledger back in. Walker and Ledger then hit an assisted flapjack on Inamura, but Briggs pulls Walker out of the ring and Inamura rolls up Ledger. Ledger then kicks out, but Briggs tags back in and hits a chokeslam on Ledger. Inamura then tags in and hits a Frog Splash on Ledger, then goes for a pin but Walker breaks the fall. Walker then tags in and hits an assisted over the shoulder powerslam on Briggs with Ledger’s help for the win.

We then see Wren Sinclair, Tavion Heights and Myles Borne talking about next week’s battle royal. Borne notes that the match will feature NXT, TNA, EVOLVE and maybe LFG wrestlers. Tavion then says Charlie Dempsey isn’t here because he is pissed at Borne teaming with someone outside the group. Borne then says he’s going to be in the Battle Royal no matter what Dempsey thinks. Heights then asks Wren what was up with Dempsey. Wren then says Charles is a complex man.
We then head to the back, where we see Andre Chase is back in a Chase U class room. Andre Chase is lecturing his newest Chase U class. Chase talks about Ridge Holland taking out Chase University, but it is a new day. Uriah Connors and Kale Dixon then show up late to class. Chad asks if it is wrong for Connors and Dixon to be tardy. Chase then tells Chad to f**k his questions. Chase then goes on one of his Bobby Knight inspired rants and says it feels right. The students then cheer Andre Chase.
We then see Kelani Jordan show up to trash talk Sol Ruca and ZARIA. Sol is about to agree to a title defense, but ZARIA cuts in and says Sol isn’t throwing around title matches like that. ZARIA then tells Jordan if she wants to face Sol she has to face her first.
We then see a medic checking on TNA World Champion Joe Hendry’s injured shoulder backstage. Hank & Tank then show up and say they have Joe’s back against DarkState. Joe then has to switch to his uninjured shoulder to join Hank & Tank in their Honk Honk hand pump.
Roxanne Perez then makes her way. down to the ring for the main event of the night and Giulia follows. IYO SKY and Jordynne Grace then make their way down to the ring next.
The match starts off with Perez sliding out of the ring. Grace and SKY then surround Perez, but Giulia looks to hit SKY from behind, but SKY sees her coming and ducks out of the way. Grace then sends Perez back in the ring and SKY hits a Bronco Buster on her. She then looks to hit a bodyslam on Perez, but Giulia comes to Perez’s aid.
Grace then tags in and gets Perez up on one shoulder. Perez then escapes and tags in Giulia. Giulia then looks to roll up Grace, but Grace blocks it and nails Giulia with a shoulder tackle. Grace then gets Giulia up on her shoulders, but Perez distracts the referee as Giulia escapes. Perez then tags in and delivers some stomps on Grace in the corner before hitting a Russian Leg Sweep on Grace and going for a pin. Grace then kicks out. Giulia then tags in and Grace sends her crashing into Perez. She then tags in SKY and SKY hits a dropkick on Giulia. Grace then tags back in and hits a strike on Giulia, then tags out to SKY. Grace then gets SKY in an Electric Chair position to take down Giulia, but Perez comes to Giulia’s aid.
Perez then tags in and sends SKY crashing into the middle turnbuckle face first. Giulia then tags back in and stomps on the back of SKY’s neck, then tags back out to Perez. SKY then stomps on Perez’s chest, but Giulia keeps her from making the tag. SKY then fights off Giulia, but Perez nails Grace on the apron and takes SKY down. SKY then responds with a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker on Perez and tags in Grace as Giulia tags in on her side. Grace then nails Giulia with a couple of back elbows and gets Perez up on her shoulders, then uses her to nail Giulia and send her crashing into the mat. Grace then hits a double suplex on Giulia and Perez before SKY tags back in and hits a double stomp on Giulia off the top rope. She. then goes for a pin, but Grace sends herself and Perez crashing into both women to break the fall.
Giulia then nails SKY with a headbutt, then tags in Perez. Perez then hits a moonsault off the middle rope on SKY and pins her, but Grace breaks the fall. Giulia then sends Grace crashing into the ring apron spine first, but Grace returns the favor and the two continue brawling on the outside up the ramp. Perez then rolls up SKY back in the ring grabbing onto her tights, but SKY reverses the fall. Perez then kicks out and both women continue taking turns trying to pin one another. Perez then hits a thrust kick on SKY and a second kick on her midsection. SKY then hits a kick of her own on Perez, then follows it up with an Over The Moonsault for the win.

We then head backstage to Ava’s office, where Ava informs Stephanie Vaquer that Grace and Giulia will face off in a #1 Contender’s match to determine who challenges her for the NXT Women’s Championship at NXT Battleground and the show comes to a close.
