CM Punk was fired from AEW and WWE doesn’t seem interested. That being said, the company wanted to make sure that talent knew where they stood with things.

Rumors of CM Punk’s return to WWE were kicked off in a big way when it was reported that there are talks between the two sides. After that story circulated last week suggesting that CM Punk is interested in returning to WWE, where it was said sources close to him have indicated ongoing discussions between the parties, a lot has come to light. While the story generated considerable attention, there is no definitive confirmation of his return.

Ringside News exclusively reported that CM Punk wants to create an impression of interest from WWE as he desires to make comeback. He reached out to assess interest, although it has not been reciprocated thus far.

Sean Sapp noted behind Fightful’s paywall that WWE talent have also been told that CM Punk is not coming back. This includes some of the talent who have openly shaded and referenced Punk in recent memory.

“Talent have unanimously been told that WWE is not working on a Punk return as of now. This includes some that have made references to Punk on air.”

It was also reported that WWE doesn’t want unrealistic expectations for Survivor Series. CM Punk will not be there, but he is not needed.

As Eric Bischoff put it, CM Punk offers no added value to WWE at this point. They are in the middle of a booming period for the company, so they don’t need to add any unpredictable elements to the situation.

Keep checking back with Ringside News for more on this story, and so many more. WWE will not be having CM Punk by the looks of it, but Impact Wrestling may still be interested in the Second City Savior.
