WWE isn’t pulling the plug on Crown Jewel just yet. After months of questions surrounding the company’s Saudi Arabia schedule, Crown Jewel is still sitting on WWE’s 2026 live event calendar, with the company keeping a close eye on the situation in the Middle East before making any moves.
WrestleVotes addressed the status of the show during an August 10 Q&A and didn’t dance around the question when asked whether fans should still expect Crown Jewel this year. The answer was yes.
“Are we still expecting Crown Jewel this year? Yes. Obviously, that is with eyes on the real world, making sure that area is safe, things like that. It is still on the live event calendar.”
That’s the clearest indication yet that WWE hasn’t changed course. And there was plenty of reason to wonder. Back in March, we had reported that WWE officials had been discussing the company’s remaining Saudi Arabia events for 2026 as tensions in the Middle East continued. Those conversations weren’t limited to this year either, with WrestleMania 43 in Riyadh also part of the discussion.
There’s another reason this year’s show has been worth watching closely. Crown Jewel broke from its usual Saudi Arabia home in 2025 and went all the way to Perth, Australia instead. With the event coming back around in 2026, questions naturally followed over what WWE had planned next.
For now, those plans haven’t been ripped up. WWE has already gone big in Saudi Arabia once this year, bringing the Royal Rumble to Riyadh on January 31. And the company’s relationship with the country is only supposed to get bigger from here.
WrestleMania 43 is planned for Riyadh in 2027, putting WWE on course to hold WrestleMania outside North America for the first time ever. That makes Crown Jewel another important piece of the road getting there. After all the internal discussions, all the uncertainty and all the questions surrounding WWE’s Saudi schedule, Crown Jewel hasn’t disappeared. It’s still on the calendar.
