WWE could soon have its own hangout directly across from Madison Square Garden. Nick Hogan says the company will be welcome to use Hulk Hogan’s upcoming SLAM Sports Bar whenever WWE takes over the legendary New York City venue.
Speaking with TV Insider, Nick praised WWE for how it treated his family before and after Hulk Hogan’s death. He specifically named Nick Khan and Paul “Triple H” Levesque while describing the support WWE has given them.
“Our relationship with WWE is so fantastic. They are so gracious. They have been so kind and helpful through this process. The moment my dad passed, and even prior to that, they’ve always just embraced us with open arms. Nick Khan, Paul Levesque, everybody in the company has just been so welcoming and so helpful.”
Nick also discussed WWE honoring Hulk during WrestleMania weekend with the Hall of Fame “Immortal Moment” and a new statue. The statue reveal caught Nick completely off guard and finally caused his emotions to spill out.
“Even at WrestleMania this year, they did so many things to honor my dad, including the Hall of Fame ‘Immortal Moment’ and then the statue that they unveiled. It was a complete surprise to me.”
“I was pretty strong through the whole WrestleMania weekend, and then when Paul came out and surprised me with that statue and they made that announcement, I cracked there. I definitely started shedding a few tears. It was just a really beautiful moment.”
WWE’s relationship with the family could now carry over to SLAM. Nick said the company is excited about the venue because of its prime location next to Madison Square Garden.
“They continue to just support us and give us this embrace so that we know they’re there for us. They have shared some massive excitement for the opening of SLAM, especially because it’s right there at Madison Square Garden.”
Nick then revealed that WWE will be free to use SLAM as an auxiliary space whenever it runs events at the Garden. The bar also plans to show WWE premium live events and weekly programming.
“We fully plan to allow them to use it as an auxiliary space. Anytime they have events there, anything they need, we’ll accommodate and make sure they’re able to use the space.”
“We’ll definitely be participating in having all the premium live events there, all the wrestling programming available for the fans to watch at SLAM. It’s going to be a pretty cool experience for people when they come in there.”
SLAM is already being positioned as more than another wrestling-themed restaurant. With WWE potentially using the venue during Madison Square Garden events, Hulk Hogan’s name could remain tied to some of the biggest wrestling nights in New York City.
