WWE isn’t waiting until January to build hype for Royal Rumble season—they’re starting early in Salt Lake City.

During the November 1st edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event, WWE dropped a major announcement that sets the tone for the new year.

The first Saturday Night’s Main Event of 2026 will take place on January 24th at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. That same venue will also host Friday Night SmackDown the night before, making it a double-header weekend for WWE fans in Canada.

This Montreal special is locked in for just one week before WWE’s 2026 Royal Rumble Premium Live Event, which is scheduled to go down in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. WWE stacking the schedule that close to Rumble weekend could mean big returns, surprises, or key storyline shifts.

Before WWE heads north of the border, the next Saturday Night’s Main Event is still on deck—December 13th at the Capital One Arena in Washington, DC. That event is already loaded, as it’s been confirmed to include John Cena’s final match.

WWE clearly has major plans for Saturday nights heading into 2026—and with John Cena stepping away and Royal Rumble looming, the road to WrestleMania is already heating up.
