WWE is stacking the deck at the Performance Center this week while the NXT roster hits the road—and they’re doing it with some familiar faces from across the wrestling world.
According to PWInsider, longtime wrestling veteran and current TNA producer Ace Steel is in Orlando serving as a guest coach at WWE’s Performance Center. Steel, who has worked behind the scenes in AEW and TNA, brings years of in-ring and production experience to the developmental system as NXT continues to evolve its training model.
He isn’t alone either. Former WWE Women’s Champion Jazz is also back at the Performance Center this week. She’s become a regular presence throughout 2025, returning multiple times to work hands-on with the women’s division. Her mentorship has proven valuable in shaping the next wave of female talent, and her no-nonsense approach has earned respect from everyone inside the facility.
Also noted earlier, former WWE Cruiserweight Champion TJP—also known as TJ Perkins—is being considered for a future guest coaching spot. While not yet confirmed, his technical style and veteran experience would make him a strong addition to WWE’s guest coach rotation.
While those guest coaches work with talent behind the scenes, the NXT crew is hitting the road for a three-city stretch of non-televised live events running from October 9 through 11. Stops include Columbus, Cleveland, and Detroit, and WWE is sending some extra star power along for the ride.
Shawn Michaels confirmed that Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa—collectively known as DIY—will be appearing on all three shows. Meanwhile, Detroit will get a special visit from Motor City Machine Guns members Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin, who are scheduled to appear only on the Friday stop in their hometown.
One other major name being advertised for the tour is Tony D’Angelo, marking what appears to be his first return to in-ring action after several months off television. His inclusion in the promotional material points to a comeback that fans have been waiting for.
Between bringing in respected veterans like Ace Steel and Jazz to sharpen the Performance Center system, and showcasing major names from the main roster across NXT’s live circuit, WWE is making a clear push to strengthen every aspect of its developmental brand.
