Will Ospreay just can’t resist making jokes about his wife, Alex Windsor, and his latest comment might sound familiar to anyone who remembers his controversial wedding night promo. The AEW World Champion made another cheeky remark about his marriage ahead of AEW WrestleDream on October 17, 2026, this time telling fans to ask his wife about his impressive cardio.
During a recent interview with WKMG News 6, Ospreay was asked about the challenge of defending his AEW World Championship in the eight-man Clockwork Carnage Match. Since he would be entering the match first, Ospreay knew he’d need some serious stamina to survive. However, instead of giving a typical answer about his conditioning, Ospreay couldn’t help himself and slipped in a joke about his wife.
“I mean, it is, but thankfully, I’m a cardio machine. I’m very good at that. Ask the wife.”
The comment comes just months after Ospreay landed himself in hot water over another joke involving Windsor. During the June 17 episode of AEW Dynamite, Ospreay joked about what happened after his wedding before explaining why he skipped his honeymoon to appear on television.
“I got a good wife, man. So here’s what I did to treat her—I took her upstairs, I smashed the life out of her, bruv. I said, ‘Babe, clean yourself up, I gotta go to Houston.’”
The remark drew criticism online, with some fans accusing Ospreay of being disrespectful toward his wife. He later defended the joke during an interview with 107.7 The Bone, claiming he was actually talking about beating Windsor at Mario Kart. Ospreay also made it clear that he wasn’t interested in apologizing to anyone who took offense, pointing out that his wife, his boss and AEW’s television partners had no problem with what he said.
As for his latest cardio joke, Ospreay actually backed up his claims inside the ring at WrestleDream. He entered the Clockwork Carnage Match first and survived all seven challengers before securing the deciding fall with just two seconds remaining. Ospreay hit Adam Copeland with a Hidden Blade and pinned him to finish with three points, retaining the AEW World Championship.
Ospreay clearly isn’t changing his sense of humor anytime soon. After all the controversy surrounding his previous comments about Windsor, he’s still finding ways to slip jokes about their marriage into interviews. And after surviving nearly the entire Clockwork Carnage Match, he’s got a pretty strong case for calling himself a cardio machine.
