Will Ospreay is still adjusting after neck surgery, and he admits things don’t feel completely normal yet — but he believes his performance at AEW Dynasty showed he’s still operating at the highest level.
Ospreay returned to pay-per-view action at AEW Dynasty on April 12 in Vancouver, where he challenged Jon Moxley for the Continental Championship. The match lasted more than 18 minutes and marked his first pay-per-view bout since Forbidden Door 2025, where he later underwent neck surgery.
Speaking to The Sportster, Ospreay said he felt pressure to prove he could still deliver top-tier matches after returning from injury, especially given the reputation he built before surgery.
“I set such a high volume of pay-per-view standard and pay-per-view quality matches before I got hurt. I wanted to come back and still be able to reassure people that pay-per-view Billy Goat is still one of the best wrestlers in the world.”
He didn’t hesitate to say he believes he delivered on that expectation once he stepped back into the ring.
“And undeniably, I feel like I proved it once again.”
Despite that confidence, Ospreay admitted the recovery process hasn’t been easy, especially when it comes to getting used to how his body feels now after surgery.
“It’s super scary because it still doesn’t feel like my head. I’m still like getting used to like this new neck that I’ve got now. So, it is a test, but so far I feel like I’ve been able to do all the old things that I did beforehand.”
Ospreay also looked ahead to the future and the possibility of competing for the AEW World Championship at Wembley Stadium during All In. While he isn’t sure if he’ll be entered into this year’s Owen Hart Cup, he made it clear that winning a world title at Wembley would be a career-defining achievement.
“I could never imagine what Wembley Stadium would look like and now I’ve been in there and I felt winning a championship in that venue. To win the most coveted prize in all pro wrestling, I think honestly it would just be one of these moments where like I finally did something cool in my life that I could actually look back on and be proud about.”
For now, Ospreay’s focus remains on staying active and proving he hasn’t lost a step since surgery. He is scheduled to wrestle Mark Davis on tonight’s episode of Dynamite, continuing his push to show fans that he’s still capable of delivering at the highest level.
