JD McDonagh doesn’t just want to beat Danhausen—he wants to make him pay.

Just days before the two face each other at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event, McDonagh opened up about why he specifically pushed for their match to be contested under No Disqualification rules, making it clear that a normal wrestling match wasn’t going to be enough.

Speaking with Inside the Ring, McDonagh said months of chaos involving Danhausen have finally pushed him to the point where he wants the freedom to settle things however he sees fit. When asked why he requested the stipulation, McDonagh didn’t hesitate.

“Why does it require? It requires that kind of stipulation so I can inflict the punishment that he deserves on him.”

McDonagh then ran through everything he believes Danhausen has done to The Judgment Day over the last several months, saying the rivalry has gone far beyond what happens inside the ring.

According to McDonagh, Danhausen electrocuted him in his laboratory, stole $100,000 from The Judgment Day and most recently cost him the Intercontinental Championship. In his mind, that deserves far more than a standard wrestling match.

“From where I’m sitting, I got electrocuted pretty bad in his lab. I’m sure you guys saw that. He stole from us like a thief in the night, $100,000, and he cost me the IC title on Monday.”

For McDonagh, Saturday isn’t about earning a victory—it’s about finally getting revenge. He said the No Disqualification stipulation gives him the freedom to do things he normally couldn’t in a regular match, and that’s exactly why he wanted it.

“So he’s got a beating coming to him—the kind that I need to maybe stray outside the rules of a regular wrestling match to inflict on him.”

The No DQ stipulation was officially confirmed on this week’s episode of WWE Raw, setting the stage for the latest chapter in one of WWE’s strangest rivalries. Since arriving in WWE, Danhausen has spent months tormenting The Judgment Day, cursing Dominik Mysterio, stealing the faction’s money and remaining undefeated in singles competition.

Now McDonagh believes all of that comes to an end at Saturday Night’s Main Event. Whether he finally gets his revenge—or Danhausen finds another way to outsmart The Judgment Day—will be one of the more unpredictable matches on the card.
