Mercedes Mone left WWE in 2022 over creative disagreements with Vince McMahon and later joined NJPW before signing with AEW. While she has become a major star in AEW, Ric Flair believes she will eventually return to WWE.

Since debuting in AEW in March 2024, Mercedes Moné has built an impressive undefeated streak, holding a 15-0 record and she holds four titles at the same time, which is obviously a huge achievement.

While speaking on Busted Open Radio, Ric Flair believes that AEW is not the best long-term fit for Mercedes Mone, despite her impressive undefeated streak. Flair feels she lacks strong competition in AEW and explained that while AEW has talented wrestlers, there is a difference between being good and being truly great. In his opinion, Mone would be a better fit in WWE, and he expects that she will eventually return there.

“Right now, I do think WWE is a better fit, yeah, because she doesn’t have that many good opponents over there in AEW. Everybody’s good. To be in the business, you’ve got to be good, but to be great, that encompasses a whole different word. ‘Great’ and ‘good’—you know what I mean? And I truly believe she’ll end up over there back in WWE.”

Mercedes Mone has also addressed possibly returning to WWE eventually, where she made it clear that she was more than happy working in AEW and simply doesn’t see herself going back there.

Nevertheless, Mercedes Mone is obviously doing well for herself in AEW right now but anything could change and fans might get to see her back in WWE somewhere down the line.
