Tom Lawlor made an appearance in the dark match prior to the highly anticipated AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door event.

According to our correspondent at the event, Lawlor, who was originally scheduled to face Adam Cole on the main card before Cole fell ill and the match was removed from the lineup, emerged victorious in a pre-air show bout against Serpentico.

Following Lawlor’s victory, AEW President Tony Khan made an appearance to express his gratitude to the audience for attending the event. Shortly after, Christian Cage and Luchasaurus were brought out to the ring. Cage, in a heel persona, engaged with the Toronto fans and declared his departure.

While Lawlor’s dark match victory allowed him to showcase his skills in front of the audience, the unexpected absence of the planned Adam Cole match undoubtedly altered the original event plans.
