Heenan was dealing with some significant health issues at this time, and Russo’s heart broke for him the minute he saw him. Russo immediately made the decision to not bring up past grievances, and rather he made it known to Heenan just how much he respected and loved him. Heenan embraced Russo with open arms and it was almost as if there were never any past issues between them. That proves just how amazing Heenan was, not only as a performer, but also as a human being.
Russo says he doesn’t hate Vince McMahon at all, and he wishes he had a personal relationship with him. However, there is one thing about McMahon that Russo strongly dislikes, and that’s the fact that McMahon doesn’t give anyone credit until they’re dead. For example, Russo says that there would have never been an attitude era without people like Jim Ross and Bruce Prichard, but McMahon has never given them an ounce of credit.
Vito agrees and says that it doesn’t cost anything to give people some credit or to praise someone. Some people have no problem giving credit where credit is due, but other people seem to have a real issue with that. McMahon is clearly someone who struggles complimenting people.
