Vince Russo isn’t letting his issues with Seth Rollins cool off—and now Becky Lynch is getting pulled into the crossfire too.
After Rollins publicly blasted Russo and called him an “idiot” during a podcast appearance back in December 20265, Russo already responded on social media with criticism of Rollins’ in-ring psychology and character work. But now, Russo doubled down during a discussion of the February 16 episode of WWE RAW on the Russo Brand podcast, where he tore into both Rollins and Lynch while reviewing a segment he felt exposed major problems in WWE’s presentation.
While watching the clip, Russo abruptly stopped the segment and pointed to what he sees as a lack of realism in modern WWE promos, arguing that the interaction between the performers didn’t resemble how people actually behave.
“Here’s what I talk about, guys, and I beg you to watch JCW and see the difference. Here’s what I talk about. This conversation, these faces, these actions would not be happening in real life. This is not how these two people would be acting in real life.”
That frustration quickly turned into a direct shot at Rollins, as Russo questioned why the WWE star has such strong feelings toward him despite never having a personal interaction.
“BRO, you know what I figured out about Becky Ben? I swear to God… and Seth, you little whiny b*tch—you can go on every talk show you want and talk about me.”
“I’m an asshole. I’m a prick. I’m a this and a that because you know what that winds down to? You don’t want to hear the f*cking truth. You’re a whining crying b^tch.”
From there, Russo shifted his focus to Becky Lynch, breaking down what he believes is the core issue with her current character presentation. According to Russo, Lynch is missing the mark as a heel by leaning too heavily into comedy instead of generating heat.
“Okay. So, let me tell you what Becky’s problem is in a nutshell. If I was producing Becky, okay, Ben, Becky is supposed to be a heel. She’s supposed to be a heel. She’s trying to be funny.”
He continued by criticizing what he sees as a consistent pattern in Lynch’s performances whenever she has a microphone in hand.
“Becky is always trying to be over-the-top funny. Always, bro. From what she wears to putting her dukes up to the funny faces… she tries to be funny. She’s f*cking a heel.”
Russo didn’t stop there, calling out WWE leadership for not correcting what he views as a fundamental character issue, and comparing Lynch’s approach to past stars who balanced humor differently.
“Guys, do you remember? Was Scott Hall funny in the nWo? Yes. Was Kevin Nash funny in the nWo? Yes. Here’s the difference. They weren’t trying to be funny.”
“They were cool. That’s who they were. Becky, every single time a microphone is in her hand, she is over-the-top trying to be funny.”
He closed out his critique by reinforcing his belief that Lynch’s role as a heel is being misunderstood, both by her and by those producing the segments.
“Now, maybe in her mind she thinks that’s entertaining… no, you’ve got a role as a heel. Your job as a heel is not to try to make people laugh.”
Russo’s latest comments show that his back-and-forth with Seth Rollins is far from over, and now it’s expanding into a broader critique of WWE’s creative direction and character work. With Rollins already taking a firm stance against Russo, it remains to be seen if this latest round of criticism will spark another response—or if this rivalry stays confined to podcasts and social media.
