Val Venis is back on social media talking about AEW and LGBTQ fans, this time by putting the question directly to his followers.
On August 22, 2026, the former WWE Intercontinental Champion took to X and launched a poll asking whether AEW’s audience is made up mostly of LGBTQ fans. Venis wrote:
“POLL: Does AEW have a majority LGBTQ+++XYZ fan base?”
At the time the poll was captured, 139 people had voted. The “YES” option was leading with 66.9% of the vote, while “NO” had 33.1%. The poll still had six days remaining, meaning those numbers could change significantly before voting closes.
The post comes as Venis continues to make LGBTQ issues a regular part of his social media presence. He has previously gone after AEW President Tony Khan over his support of transgender people and has also targeted wrestlers over their gender identity and pronouns.
Venis has even found himself on the other end of those battles. Fans previously registered a Val Venis-related domain that redirected visitors to a pro-trans organization, while an LGBTQ organization later filed a trademark involving his wrestling name.
His latest poll now puts AEW’s fan base directly in the middle of the conversation, though the results only reflect responses from people voting through Venis’ own X account and should not be treated as a scientific measurement of AEW’s overall audience. With several days still remaining on the poll, it remains to be seen where the final numbers land. Either way, Venis has once again found a way to drag AEW and LGBTQ issues into the same social media discussion.
