Tyler Breeze has cleared up the confusion surrounding his relationship with WWE. Despite his work with UpUpDownDown and past involvement behind the scenes at NXT, Breeze says he is not currently with the company.
The clarification came on September 1, 2026, after someone on social media claimed Breeze was still under contract with WWE. Breeze shut that down with three words, writing, “No he’s not.”
That settles the contract question. Breeze was released by WWE in June 2021, but his connection to the company did not completely disappear. He remained involved with UpUpDownDown alongside Austin Creed, known to WWE viewers as Xavier Woods, and later worked in a coaching role.
Back in December 2025, Breeze said a full-time WWE return was still possible if the company approached him with an idea. He made it clear that he was open to coming back, but the decision belonged to WWE. Breeze also stressed that he had not retired and was continuing to wrestle outside WWE.
“I’m not sure. I mean, that’s obviously not my call. If there was ever a spot or an idea and they said, ‘Hey man, are you interested in this?’ Yeah, I don’t see why not.”
“I’m still active. I’m still wrestling around, just doing all sorts of stuff. So it’s very, very possible, but it’s up to them if they want to have me.”
His comments came after a surprise appearance at NXT Homecoming in September 2025, where he challenged Ethan Page for the NXT North American Championship. That return created speculation that “Prince Pretty” could become a regular part of WWE programming again.
However, Breeze’s latest response makes his current status clear. He may still have ties to people inside WWE, but he is not presently under contract with the company. Breeze now works as a trainer alongside Shawn Spears at Flatbacks Wrestling School. He also remains active on the independent scene, competing for promotions including MCW, AIW and A1.
A future WWE return may still be possible, but Breeze is not quietly sitting on the company’s roster waiting for creative plans. If WWE wants Prince Pretty back, it will need to make him a new offer.
