WWE fans pay a lot of money to get good seats to shows. That being said, fans have noticed a huge uptick in pricing since TKO took over the situation. This is a controversial situation, to say the least. For Triple H, he is very happy about how ticket sales are going.
During the All In Podcast, Triple H spoke about the rise of live events and the decline of traditional broadcast media. He explained how WWE is growing digitally while also staying focused on live shows.
Triple H said everything points back to the live experience. He also spoke about WWE’s presence on digital platforms. But he made it clear that the main strength comes from what happens in front of a crowd.
“To go back to the live event experience, our live event—you know, our ticketing, our live event experience numbers are off the chart. And that’s global.”
Triple H gave an example of WWE’s recent success in France. After all, they broke a big record in Paris, rivaling Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour in the process.
“We were just in Paris. We did the stadium in Paris. We did Lyon, France on a Friday night. A PLE on a Sunday night in a stadium in Paris, France, where we had 30-plus thousand there. And then we did Monday Night Raw from Paris in that same stadium with a little over 20,000 there for TV the next night.”
Triple H also said that kind of travel and schedule is normal for WWE. After all, there is no off season in pro wrestling, and there likely never will be.
“Came straight back to the U.S. So it’s every single week — that amount of live content.”
Triple H made it clear that live shows are the foundation of WWE’s success. Those tickets are going up in price, but so is every other live event ticket in the industry. WWE has made a point for years to make it clear that they are in competition with every other form of entertainment, even sleep.
WWE will keep doing things their own way, because it is working out well for them. Triple H also made a backhanded remark about how WWE books with the storyline in mind, and not simply to fill up a card full of good matches, much like AEW does.
Only time will tell what is in the future, but Triple H will likely be there at the helm of WWE. We will have to see how many records they break in the process, especially when it comes to ticket sales and blockbuster gates.
