Tony Khan Wants Shaquille O’Neal Back in AEW for Another Match

NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal was last seen on AEW television a few years ago and made a great impression. That’s why it comes as no surprise that Tony Khan wants to bring him back to AEW.

While speaking to Sportico, Tony Khan was asked which non-wrestler he’d like to bring into AEW, and he explained that the best celebrity appearance they’ve had so far was Shaquille O’Neal.

Khan noted that Shaq is currently 1–0 in AEW but hasn’t appeared since he disappeared into the ambulance after his match in 2021. Khan said he would love to have Shaq return to the ring for another match, calling him one of the biggest stars in basketball history and pointing out that he’s still undefeated in AEW.

“For me, the best person we had — and I would love for him to come back anytime — would be Shaquille O’Neal. Shaq’s 1–0, but then he’s been away from AEW. He disappeared out of the ambulance in 2021, and we haven’t seen him since. So I would love to get Shaq back in the ring. He’s got to be one of the all-time greatest stars ever in basketball, and he’s undefeated in AEW.”

Shaquille O’Neal made his in-ring debut in AEW on the March 3, 2021 episode of Dynamite. He teamed up with Jade Cargill and faced off against Cody Rhodes and Red Velvet, which saw the NBA Hall of Famer and his partner win.

Shaquille O’Neal’s time in AEW is still remembered as one of the best celebrity moments in recent wrestling. Now that Tony Khan has said he’d like to bring Shaq back, there’s real potential for another big match. Whether it happens soon or later, fans will definitely be ready for it.
