Tony Khan wasn’t buying a fan’s criticism of Ring of Honor. After someone claimed ROH had become a “disaster” and pointed to an older episode of television as proof, Khan jumped in to explain why he thought the criticism missed the mark.

The conversation started when a fan took to Twitter and shared the Cagematch rating for the July 20 episode of ROH TV, which scored a 5.57, and argued the promotion had drifted too far from what originally made it popular.

“What are we doing with ROH bro.

This is just an example of the disaster that is going on these days.

I’d love to see ROH go back to its roots and run actual shows again.”

Khan’s first response was to point out that the fan was using an episode from July to criticize the current product, even though several months have passed since then.

“‘These days’? It’s October. This tv was in July.”

He then defended what ROH has done since that show aired, specifically bringing up Death Before Dishonor in August, which he said was very well received by fans.

“Since then, there was an excellent ROH Death Before Dishonor ppv in August. It was widely praised.”

Khan also reminded fans that ROH continues to air free weekly programming on YouTube and argued that the latest episode featured strong in-ring action.

“There was free ROH TV on YouTube last night with tremendous action.”

The AEW President said the criticism wasn’t a fair representation of where ROH is today because it relied on an older episode rather than the promotion’s more recent shows.

“You handpicked a tv from months ago and called it ‘these days.’”

Khan has never been shy about defending AEW or ROH online, and this was another example of him pushing back when he felt the criticism wasn’t based on the company’s current product. Whether fans agree with him or not, it’s clear he thinks ROH’s recent shows deserve more credit than they’re getting.
