CM Punk is considered one of the most problematic and toxic individuals in the pro wrestling world right now, as his stock only dropped in the past year. He was fired by AEW and now Tony Khan admitted that the backstage incident was the most dangerous situation he found himself in backstage.
CM Punk and Jack Perry had been suspended following their backstage confrontation at AEW All In, which eventually led to Tony Khan firing CM Punk. Khan would then provide the reason behind Punk’s firing, where Khan stated that he feared for his life because of CM Punk.
It was also reported that CM Punk did more than just lunge at Tony Khan. While speaking on The Dan Le Batard Show, Tony Khan was asked if the CM Punk backstage incident at All In was the most dangerous situation he found himself in. Khan admitted that it was definitely the most dangerous situation and added that he was genuinely scared for his life and it was not performative.
[Is it indeed the most dangerous situation you found himself in backstage?]”Without a doubt. Without a doubt, 100% yes.”
[Did you indeed fear for your life or was that performative?]”Yeah, I was scared as hell for a moment there.”
Ringside News exclusively reported that CM Punk is trying to float the narrative that there are serious talks about his return to WWE. It is also unlikely he will return to AEW anytime soon and fans have accepted that fact as well.
