Mara Sadè’s AEW status has been one of wrestling’s worst-kept secrets lately, but Tony Khan still isn’t ready to make anything official. After weeks of reports and speculation, the AEW President finally addressed the situation himself.
During the AEW All Out media call, Khan was asked directly about Sadè’s status after reports claimed she’d already signed with the company. He didn’t confirm anything, but he made it clear AEW knows exactly who she is, calling her a tremendous young talent before telling fans to stay tuned.
That answer comes after Fightful Select reported that Sadè had agreed to a full-time, salaried AEW deal that was already in effect as of last week. The report also said she spoke with WWE after becoming a free agent and had an offer from TNA before deciding on AEW.
The rumors only picked up steam when Sadè’s own website briefly listed AEW in her biography alongside WWE and TNA. Not long after fans noticed it, the AEW reference quietly disappeared, making it look like somebody may have revealed her destination a little earlier than intended.
Khan didn’t give fans the official announcement they’re waiting for, but he also didn’t try to cool down the speculation. If anything, his comments only added more to the speculation. With reports saying the deal is already done, it now feels like the only mystery left is when AEW decides it’s time for Mara Sadè to walk through the curtain.
