Tommy Dreamer has fans wondering what the hell is going on after a mysterious video teasing “The Midnight Dreamer” showed up on social media. Some thought he was launching a new wrestling company or introducing some kind of animated character, but the truth is a lot simpler. It’s all part of a wrestling storyline.
The Midnight Dreamer is actually part of an angle for Adrenaline Championship Wrestling (ACW). Manager Josh Shernoff recently defeated Dreamer and claimed to have retired the ECW legend, but it looks like Dreamer isn’t going away that easily.
During ACW’s October 17 event in Poughkeepsie, New York, Shernoff was busy bragging about putting Dreamer into retirement when a mysterious vignette aired teasing The Midnight Dreamer.
The whole thing is a throwback to Dusty Rhodes’ famous Midnight Rider storyline from the 1980s, when Rhodes returned under a mask after being forced out of wrestling. Now Dreamer is getting his own version of that classic angle.
The storyline is setting things up for ACW’s return in January 2027, so fans will have to wait to see what happens next. One thing is clear, though: Dreamer’s supposed retirement isn’t stopping him from finding a way back into the action, even if it means borrowing a page from Dusty Rhodes’ playbook.
