TNA Lockdown is getting some last-minute changes, including a new stipulation for the X Division Championship match and a mystery partner being added to the mix.
The pay-per-view takes place Sunday, August 23 at the Credit Union 1 Arena in Chicago, Illinois, with every match on the main card still scheduled to take place inside a steel cage.
Cedric Alexander’s X Division Championship defense against Leon Slater has now been turned into a Last Man Standing match. The bout is still set to happen inside the cage, giving Alexander and Slater another layer of punishment to deal with. The stakes were already huge for Slater. If he loses, his second-longest X Division Championship reign will be erased from TNA history.
There has also been a change to the TNA Knockouts World Tag Team Championship match. Rosemary has been “missing,” meaning Allie will now defend the titles alongside a partner who has yet to be revealed against Heather by Elegance and M by Elegance.
TNA also added another match to the Countdown to Lockdown pre-show. The Righteous, Vincent and Dutch, will take on Rich Swann and BDE. Trey Miguel’s match against Agent Zero has also been moved to the pre-show.
The updated TNA Lockdown lineup is:
- TNA World Tag Team Championship Cage Match: The Hardys (Matt Hardy & Jeff Hardy) vs. The Nemeth Brothers (Nic Nemeth & Ryan Nemeth)
- Cage Match: Elijah vs. A.J. Francis
- TNA Knockouts World Tag Team Championship Cage Match: Allie & TBA vs. The Elegance Brand (Heather by Elegance & M by Elegance)
- TNA International Championship Cage Match: Jason Hotch vs. Mustafa Ali
- Escape The Cage Match: Moose vs. Frankie Kazarian
- TNA Knockouts World Championship Cage Match: Xia Brookside vs. Elayna Black
- TNA X Division Championship Last Man Standing Match: Cedric Alexander vs. Leon Slater
- Lethal Lockdown Match: The System (Eddie Edwards, Bear Bronson, Brian Myers & Alisha Edwards) vs. Ricky Sosa, K.C. Navarro, Jada Stone & Fabian Aichner
- Countdown to Lockdown: Trey Miguel vs. Agent Zero
- Countdown to Lockdown: The Righteous (Vincent & Dutch) vs. Rich Swann & BDE
TNA has packed Lockdown with cage matches, title defenses and some serious stipulations, and now there are even more questions heading into Chicago — especially when it comes to who will step up as Allie’s mystery partner.
