Tonight’s TNA iMPACT, airing live on January 23, 2025, marks the company’s first live episode in eight years, coming from the Boeing Center at Tech Port in San Antonio, Texas. Joe Hendry will speak for the first time since capturing the TNA World Championship at Genesis, while Tessa Blanchard addresses the fans following her match with Jordynne Grace. Plus, The Hardys take on The System in a high-stakes tag team battle, and Santino Marella will address Josh Alexander’s shocking departure from TNA.

The show opens up with a video package that recapped this past weekend’s TNA Genesis PPV.
Tom Hannifan and Matthew Rehwoldt then welcomes us to the show. We then see Gia Miller talking with the TNA Director of Authority Santino Marella, who teases a couple of surprises for the show.
TNA World Champion Joe Hendry’s music then hits and he makes his way down to the ring. Hendry starts off by saying say his name and he appears. Hendry then says he is the TNA World Champion. Hendry then thanks the fans and says they had his back. Hendry then says the journey to the title was then, but this is now. Hendry then says he went to Santino Marella and told him that not only will he be a fighting champion, but he will put his title on the line against anyone from anywhere. Hendry then tells the fans to trust him when he says anything can happen because for the first time in eight years iMPACT is live.
Santino Marella then makes his way out and congratulates Hendry, then confirms that he spoke to Hendry about being a fighting champion who will defend the title inside and outside of TNA. Santino then says he had someone who took him up on the offer and that person will face Hendry in the main event. Matt Cardona then makes his way out and is identified as the person who will challenge Hendry for the TNA World Title in the main event.
We then get video footage from Genesis of Mike Santana beating Josh Alexander in an I Quit Match followed by Alexander saying he quit the match and also quits TNA. We then get a video of Eric Young confronting Alexander backstage and asking him if he was really going to quit and leave after everything.
We then head to the back, where Eric Young is speaking with Steve Maclin and telling him that Alexander is worth saving. Maclin says he is happy with Young, who explains that he reached down and pulled up Maclin and will do the same for Alexander. Maclin then says Young doesn’t owe Alexander anything. Josh Alexander then shows up and says he isn’t there to make excuses for his behavior and everything that’s happened. Alexander then says he was there to say he respects both men and wanted to thank them for everything. Young then shakes hands with Alexander, but Maclin leaves him hanging.
Hannifan and Rehwoldt then runs through the list of previously advertised matches and are cut off by an ad.
Gia Miller is backstage and she tries to get a word with Nic Nemeth. Ryan Nemeth then shows up and tries to hog the spotlight. Nic then tells Gia he will address everyone next week.
We then get the entrances of the first match of the night, which is a 6-Knockouts Tag Team Match.
The match starts off with Ash slapping Threat across the face. Threat then responds with a forearm that puts Ash down on the mat. Threat then nails some strikes on Ash in the corner. Threat then tags in Luna. Luna then slams Threat onto Ash for a close two count. Ash then tags out to Heather by Elegance. Heather then quickly tags in Rosemary and rolls out to the floor. Luna then shoulder tackles Rosemary and and tags Threat back in and the two hit a double-team move on Rosemary, then follows it up with a seated splash for a two count.
Rosemary then fights back and grabs her own partner Heather as well. Ash then hits Threat with a clothesline. Rosemary tags back in and hits a ground and pound on Threat. Rosemary then hits a big splash on Threat in the corner and then hits an exploder suplex for a two count. Masha Slamovich then tags in and takes everyone out. Heather then hits Threat’s back with one of the stick horses.
NXT’s Cora Jade then makes her way down with an envelope in her hand. Once she arrives at ringside, she hands the envelope to Slamovich, who opens it and finds a photo of herself with a red X over her body. Ash then shoves Luna into Slamovich and rolls her up for the win.

“The Walking Weapon” Josh Alexander’s music then hits and he makes his way down to the ring with The Northern Armory. Alexander starts off by saying at Genesis he quit TNA. Alexander then thanks TNA for letting him come out and address this because they didn’t have to. Alexander then says he broke at Genesis when he gave everything he had at Mike Santana and it wasn’t enough. Alexander then reconfirms that Santana is the new standard of TNA.
Alexander then says he doesn’t want to be remembered for the guy he’s been the last few months as he believes the good of what he’s done in this company outweighs the bad. Alexander then talks about growing up being a TNA fan and says the time he’s been here has been special to him but he needs to step away. Alexander then puts over the Northern Armory and says they are one of the best up-and-coming tag teams in the world and asks them to do things the right way because they have to do it without them. The Northern Armory then tells him they can’t leave and they attack Alexander.
Eric Young then makes his way the ring and chases the Northern Armory off. Young then challenges the Northern Armory to a match next week with Josh Alexander as his tag team partner and Alexander doesn’t seem thrilled about this. Judas Icarus and Travis Williams then nods in approval.
Tom Hannifan then hypes The Hardys vs. Moose and JDC for up next.
We then get the entrances of the next match of the night, which is a Tag Team Match.
The match starts off with Moose and JDC attacking the Hardys from the get-go. The Hardys then battles back and Jeff hits Poetry In Motion on JDC. Matt then hits an elbow to the back of a JDC’s head and looks for Twist of Fate, but JDC escapes. Moose then hits a cheap shot to the back of Matt’s head. JDC then follows it up with a shot of his own and tags Moose back in. Moose then quickly tags back out and JDC takes control. JDC then misses Down ‘N’ Dirty and Matt tags in Jeff. Jeff then hits a flurry of offense on JDC and Moose. Jeff then hits the Swanton Bomb for the win.

We then get another video for the number 23. Tom Hannifan says today is January 23, so the reveal of whatever this build-up is should likely take place tonight.
Sami Callihan then makes his way down to the ring. Callihan says he is sick of waiting on whatever “23” is and calls them out right now. Steph De Lander then makes her way out and says she’s the number “23” and that she’s the new TNA Digital Media Champion that she got in the divorce, but PCO isn’t mentioned by name. De Lander then introduces her new boyfriend, Mance Warner. Mance Warner then attacks Sami Callihan with the Digital Media Championship and makes out with De Lander.
Ariana Grace then joins the commentary desk for the next match of the night, which is a WWE NXT Tag Team Championship Match.
We then get the entrances of the next match of the night.
The match starts off with Trey Miguel and Axiom and Miguel takes Axiom down. Miguel then grabs Axiom’s arm and cranks it, but Axiom escapes and tosses Miguel across the ring with a big shot. Axiom then places Miguel in a stretch after tagging in Frazer. Frazer then hits the ropes and hits Miguel with his knee. Fraxiom then quickly tags in and out.
Wentz then hits a standing shooting star press for a close two count. Wentz and Frazer then continue to fly all over the ring and Fraxiom hits a double-team move on Miguel as the referee is checking on Wentz. Frazer then hits a superplex on Wentz off the ropes, then follows it up with a second one with Axiom hitting a super kick this time. Frazer then goes for a cover, but only gets a two. Wentz then hits a spinning knee off the ropes.
Wentz then hits Axiom with a kick. Axiom then responds with one of his own, but Miguel comes in and The Rascalz take over with some double-team moves. Frazer then goes for a springboard moonsault off the ropes, but is hit with stereo super kicks from The Rascalz. The Rascalz then hit the Street Sweeper for a close two count. Wes Lee then makes his way out and Tyson Dupont and Tyriek Igwe attack Wentz from behind as Lee distracts the referee. Axiom then hits a Spanish Fly and Frazer follows it up with a splash for the win.

Mike Santana is then shown walking backstage and Hannifan hypes his appearance coming up next.
Mike Santana’s music then hits and he makes his way down to the ring through the crowd. Santana starts off by saying he went toe-to-toe with one of the best in the world at Genesis. Santana then says not only did he pass him the torch of being the new standard of TNA, but he also made him say he quit. Mike Santana then says in 2025 the goal remains the same and that is that he will climb the mountain and become the TNA World Champion. Santana is then interrupted by a returning Mustafa Ali. Ali says he is here to officially announce that he has signed with TNA Wrestling. Ali then says there is work to be done and TNA needs great leadership and he’s that great leader. Ali then says he wants to give everyone something to believe in. Ali then says he will become the next TNA World Champion. Santana then stands in the corner and shakes his head in disgust. Ali then tells the fans to remember, “In Ali we trust,” to wrap up his promo. Ali then goes to the apron and does not make eye contact with Santana.
A. security guard then knocks on Tessa Blanchard’s locker room door. Blanchard walks out and the security guard tells her that she’s next. Blanchard then smiles as she exits the camera shot.
Tessa Blanchard’s music then hits and she makes her way down to the ring. Blanchard starts off by saying it’s good to be back in Blanchard country, but this crowd doesn’t seem to agree. We then see a shot of her father Tully Blanchard watching in the crowd. Blanchard then continues to talk about her family’s history and the crowd continues to boo. Blanchard then heels the crowd and embraces the hate by running down their local sports team. Blanchard then says her family knew she could be greater than Stone Cold Steve Austin or Terry Funk. Blanchard then says the standard in TNA has been raised and she took out the trash last week at Genesis. Blanchard then says she answers to no one.
Frankie Kazarian then joins the commentary desk for the main event of the night, which TNA World Championship Match and we get the entrances.
The match starts off with both men locking up and exchanging holds. Hendry then hits some chops on Cardona. Cardona then hits Hendry low, but Hendry fights back and takes control. Hendry then hits his stalling suplex. Cardona then knocks Hendry out of the ring and chokes him with his t-shirt. Hendry then hits Cardona with an AA on the apron. Cardona then pokes Hendry in his eyes and sends him into the ring steps. Cardona then continues to work over Hendry in the ring and Hendry begins to fight back and stomps on Cardona to the tune of We Will Rock You.
Cardona then takes control of the match, but Hendry begins to fight back again. Hendry then looks for a power bomb, but Cardona escapes and nails Hendry in the throat. Cardona then follows it up with a missile dropkick and a DDT for a two count. Cardona then looks for Radio Silence, but Hendry avoids it. The referee is then hit just as Hendry hits his Standing Ovation finisher.
Cardona then hits Hendry with a low blow, while the referee is still down. Cardona then grabs the TNA World Title, but JBL makes his way out through the crowd and takes out Cardona with a Clothesline from Hell. Hendry then turns around and is hit by Cardona with the title. Cardona then goes for a cover, but Hendry kicks out. Hendry then hits his Standing Ovation finisher for the win.

After the match, Hendry celebrates his title win while Cardona thanks the fans for joining them for the first live edition of TNA Impact in eight years and the show comes to a close.
