Just days after TNA Wrestling quietly cut ties with several key behind-the-scenes names, there’s a surprising twist in the story—some staff are getting major praise, and at least one of the names listed as “let go” is still very much in the mix.

John E. Bravo is getting serious love from inside the TNA offices. Known for wearing a lot of hats in production and talent coordination, Bravo officially joined the Talent Relations department in February. And insiders say he’s already making an impact. According to PWInsider, “John E. Bravo has been getting some praise internally for his talent scouting in his new role,” and was instrumental in helping bring new signee Maggie Lee into the company.

Bravo has reportedly stepped up since Scott D’Amore’s departure, filling his shoes behind the curtain by coordinating matches, production, and talent all at once in the guerrilla position. Not only is he getting things done, but people inside the company say he’s incredibly well-liked and respected.

Meanwhile, Rafael Morffi—one of the names originally reported as being out—hasn’t quite left the building. Despite being referred to as “departing” in an internal memo from Anthem head Carlos Silva, sources tell PWInsider that Morffi has still been assisting with this weekend’s TNA tapings in St. Joseph, Missouri. He’s working under a short-term consulting deal and has remained involved in company meetings.

Morffi’s live event track record speaks for itself—he played a major role in the success of TNA’s recent ticket sales in cities like Dallas and El Paso. The company and Morffi even had “meaningful discussions” about making his position full-time. He was part of the TNA group at WWE’s NXT Roadblock at Madison Square Garden earlier this month, further fueling speculation.

However, as of this week, both sides couldn’t reach a deal on his official role or financial terms, so unless something changes, Morffi will exit when the consulting contract wraps up. Still, there’s no word yet on when exactly that will be.

Bottom line—while some faces are out, others are stepping up or staying in play longer than expected.

What do you think about how TNA is handling these behind-the-scenes shake-ups? Should they lock in Morffi full-time? Is Bravo the right guy to lead talent relations? Sound off in the comments—we want your take.
