Anthem Sports & Entertainment Inc., a global media powerhouse, has made a significant move in the world of professional wrestling by appointing Anthony Cicione as the President of TNA Wrestling.

This strategic decision aims to solidify TNA Wrestling’s position within Anthem’s Entertainment Group, which Cicione already oversees as President. By harnessing the collective resources of the entire company, including production, distribution, marketing, and digital innovation, Anthem seeks to enhance TNA Wrestling’s value across various fronts, such as viewership, customer engagement, and revenue streams.

Anthony Cicione steps into this role, replacing Scott D’Amore, whose tenure with Anthem has come to an end. D’Amore’s contributions to TNA since 2003 have been pivotal, shaping the company’s trajectory and its return to prominence in 2024. Anthem acknowledges D’Amore’s dedication to the talent, staff, and overall success of TNA Wrestling.

In his expanded role, Cicione will not only continue to oversee Entertainment operations but will also take charge of the day-to-day business affairs of TNA Wrestling. With over three decades of executive management experience, Cicione brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the table. His 16-year tenure with Anthem, during which he managed technical operations and various media channels, underscores his capability to drive growth and innovation. Prior to joining Anthem, Cicione played a pivotal role in elevating The Score by securing deals such as bringing WWE content to the network.

It’s also being said via PWInsider that it’s been suggested by those in the know that the call came straight from Len Asper, the owner of Anthem. Mike Johnson also highlighted Anthem Sports and Entertainment, the parent company of TNA, aiming to significantly increase its involvement in the promotion’s daily operations.

This appointment signals a new chapter for TNA Wrestling under Cicione’s leadership, promising exciting developments and continued success within the world of professional wrestling.
