Tiffany Stratton’s Saturday training session with Kick streamer N3on got a hell of an interruption when Los Angeles police suddenly showed up at the gym over what N3on said was another bogus SWAT call.
Stratton and N3on were training inside Arsenal Boxing when police vehicles pulled up outside and officers appeared at the glass doors. N3on immediately seemed to know what was happening, telling Stratton that somebody had apparently called in a fake emergency while watching the livestream.
“It’s just a prank SWAT call.”
Stratton looked completely thrown by the situation and questioned why somebody would call the cops on her. N3on explained that she wasn’t actually the target — whoever made the call was going after his stream and using their live location to send police there. For N3on, this was apparently nothing new. He told Stratton he’s been hit with the same stunt dozens of times while streaming in Los Angeles.
“Nah, this has happened to me in this city probably like 50 times.”
N3on explained that callers can use voice changers and make serious claims about whatever location he happens to be streaming from, forcing police to respond. Officers eventually asked for the cameras to be shut off while they dealt with the situation.
“Turn off your cameras.”
No arrests were shown in the footage circulating online, and the livestream eventually continued after the police interruption. Stratton went into the gym expecting a workout and instead got a front-row look at one of the nastier problems that comes with IRL streaming.
The entire thing could have turned much uglier considering police were responding to what they believed could have been a real emergency. Instead, the situation ended without anyone being taken away and Stratton’s very strange training session was able to continue.
