Thekla is moving closer to the AEW Women’s World Championship after beating Willow Nightingale in a No. 1 contender’s match at AEW All Out on September 26, 2026. Sisters of Sin interfered at the finish, distracting Willow long enough for Thekla to land two stomps and score the pin.
The women traded offense from the opening bell, with neither able to hold the advantage for long. Willow rocked Thekla with a pounce, followed by a body slam and a flurry of punches in the corner, but Thekla slipped away when Willow climbed the turnbuckle and sent her crashing to the floor.
Thekla changed the match by targeting Willow’s previously injured arm and hand. She stomped on Willow’s fingers, hit a running boot and kept attacking the arm, forcing Willow to fight through the damage. Willow still rallied, dropping Thekla with a cannonball on the floor and nearly putting her away with a cloverleaf-to-powerbomb sequence.
Thekla answered with a crossbody that sent Willow to the floor, then trapped her in a standing Tarantula. Willow broke free by driving Thekla into the guardrail, and both women narrowly beat the referee’s count back into the ring.
That’s when Sisters of Sin got involved. Their distraction gave Thekla the opening she needed to hit two stomps and take the win, putting her in line for a future AEW Women’s World Championship opportunity.
