Thea Hail is dealing with alopecia areata, and she decided the best way to tell everyone was to immediately start joking about going bald. The NXT star revealed the condition herself and even gave fans a look at the hair loss she’s already experiencing.
Hail took to Instagram on August 27 and casually dropped the news while joking that she somehow brought this upon herself. The former NXT Women’s North American Champion didn’t try to hide what’s happening either.
“i now have alopecia areata… i have literally manifested going bald.”
Hail included several photos in the post, including one showing her actual scalp where a patch of hair is already gone. She even threw in an edited photo of herself completely bald just to have some fun with the situation.

Alopecia areata is an autoimmune condition where the immune system attacks hair follicles, which can cause sudden patches of hair loss. For Hail, that has already resulted in a visible bald spot.
Still, judging by the way she announced it, she isn’t interested in turning this into something gloomy. She showed exactly what she’s dealing with, joked about eventually having no hair at all and basically treated the whole thing like another chaotic Thea Hail Instagram post.
Whatever happens with her WWE career next, Hail clearly isn’t hiding what’s happening away from the ring. She showed fans the bald spot herself, made herself completely bald for a joke and kept moving.
