Taz also points out that tarping off certain sections of the arena due to poor ticket sales has been happening forever. Usually those sections are hid from television shots by the cameramen but it’s always been a thing. The attitude era may be one period when sell outs were a regularity, but for the most part it’s hard to sell 15,000 tickets night after night.
He also mentions that the fall of the year is a particularly tough time for live event ticket sales. Children are back in school and parents are more reluctant to take their kids out to a late night event. Couple this with the return of NFL football, and this can explain some of WWE’s struggles right now. Nonetheless, WWE’s motto of ‘Then, Now, Forever’ is no joke, because that company will be around for a long time to come.
