Jericho welcomes his friend, Jack Slade, to the show to discuss this Sunday’s Money in the Bank PPV.

Jericho says he’s still surprised that WWE is calling Becky Lynch “Becky Two Belts” because for years the term “belt” was banned in WWE. Vince McMahon hated when people called his Title a “belt” or a “strap” because it makes it sound like something that can be bought at J.C. Penney.

Jericho informs that he actually invented the Money in the Bank Ladder Match. It was a few weeks before WrestleMania in 2005 and there were a number of notable talents who didn’t have a program or a match at ‘Mania and WWE was trying to come up with something to do.

Jericho thought it’d be a cool idea to have a multi-man ladder match and passed his idea along to Brian Gewirtz, a member of the creative team at the time. Gewirtz asked Jericho what would be at stake in the match, and Jericho said a chance to face the Champion the following night on RAW.

They eventually thought it’d even better to make the prize a contract that can be cashed in at any point during the year. They mentioned this idea to Vince McMahon, who loved it, and then he came up with the idea to put the contract into a briefcase.
