During WrestleMania 42 week, Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins were caught on video by Instagram user @keyaredd, where the duo joked about their absence and pretended they had already stepped away from the business.

The moment came as fans continue to wonder what’s next for The Street Profits, who haven’t wrestled on WWE television since October. Instead of giving a serious update, Ford leaned into humor and delivered a sarcastic answer about their status.

“You know, ladies and gentlemen, you guys have probably been wondering what The Street Profits have been doing for the last six months. Uh, retired.”

That line got an even bigger laugh when Dawkins followed it up by spelling it out like a chant, doubling down on the joke and playing directly to the crowd around them.

“Give me an R, give me an E, a T, an I, an R, an E, a D, retired.”

The comments were clearly meant as a joke, but they come at a time when fans have noticed how long it’s been since The Street Profits were featured in a meaningful match. Their last televised appearance came on WWE SmackDown on October 10, when they challenged for the WWE Tag Team Championship. Since then, their only in-ring action came during an NXT house show loop back in January.
