Damian Priest just made his AAA debut during the latest set of television tapings, and fans were clearly here for it.
During the June 20 edition of AAA Lucha Libre on FOX, Rey Mysterio teased that AAA was very close to bringing in a former WWE World Champion who had never competed for the promotion before. That instantly got fans guessing, and now the mystery is over.
During AAA’s latest television tapings, the former World Champion was revealed to be none other than Damian Priest. Priest made his entrance at the taping, and the crowd gave him a big reaction as he finally made his AAA debut.
Priest has already been keeping busy on WWE television as one half of the WWE Tag Team Champions alongside R-Truth on Friday Night SmackDown, so his AAA appearance definitely caught people off guard.
This also keeps the WWE and AAA crossover train rolling. Bayley and Nattie Neidhart have already appeared for AAA and seen success there, and now El Campeón joins the list of main roster names stepping into the promotion.
At the end of the day, AAA promised a former WWE World Champion, and they delivered in a big way. Damian Priest showing up gives the promotion another major WWE name and gives fans another reason to pay attention to what AAA is doing next.
