WWE appears ready to reveal Trick Williams’ SummerSlam direction during the July 24 episode of Friday Night SmackDown.
According to TRNBCKL Gold, the current plan is for WWE to make the direction involving Williams and the United States Championship clear during tonight’s show.
“It’s expected that the direction for Trick Williams and the United States Championship for SummerSlam will be made known on tonight’s episode of SmackDown.”
WWE has not announced exactly what the angle will involve or who Williams could face at SummerSlam. However, the planned development should answer questions about the United States Championship heading into the August 1 and August 2 event in Minneapolis.
Brie Bella vs. Jacy Jayne is also listed on WWE’s early internal rundown for SmackDown. That match would follow Brie and Paige losing the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships to Fatal Influence at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
WWE has officially announced Charlotte Flair vs. Nia Jax and Chelsea Green vs. Kiana James in Interim WWE Women’s Championship Ladder Match qualifiers. CM Punk, Cody Rhodes and Gunther are also scheduled to appear.
Plans can always change before SmackDown goes live, but WWE is expected to use the show to set up Trick Williams’ next major title program ahead of SummerSlam.
