WWE isn’t wasting any time getting SummerSlam Saturday started. Liv Morgan’s Women’s World Championship defense against IYO SKY has been selected to open Night One at U.S. Bank Stadium.
That means Morgan and SKY will be the first wrestlers through the curtain when the main show begins tonight. WWE has positioned the title match ahead of a loaded card featuring CM Punk vs. Cody Rhodes and Brock Lesnar vs. Oba Femi inside Hell in a Cell.
SKY earned the championship opportunity by winning the Queen of the Ring tournament and immediately choosing Morgan as her SummerSlam opponent. The rivalry has continued to escalate in recent weeks, with both women now being trusted to set the pace for the entire show.
The opening match can be one of the most important spots on a major WWE card. The crowd will be at full energy, and Morgan and SKY will be expected to deliver a match strong enough to get SummerSlam Saturday moving in the right direction.
The SummerSlam Saturday lineup includes:
- Women’s World Championship: Liv Morgan (c) vs. IYO SKY — opening match
- Undisputed WWE Championship: CM Punk (c) vs. Cody Rhodes
- Hell in a Cell: Brock Lesnar vs. Oba Femi
- GUNTHER vs. Nick Aldis
- LA Knight, Solo Sikoa and Royce Keyes vs. Jey Uso, Jimmy Uso and Jacob Fatu
- Nikki Bella, Brie Bella and Paige vs. Jacy Jayne, Lainey Reid and Fallon Henley
SummerSlam Saturday takes place tonight at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis. The pre-show begins at 3 PM ET, while the main card starts at 6 PM ET on the ESPN app in the United States and Netflix internationally.
