The December 17 episode of WWE NXT is shaping up to deliver big, and now we know what’s kicking off the action.

According to Fightful Select, Axiom will go one-on-one with Oba Femi to open tonight’s show, setting the tone for what promises to be a wild night at the Lowell Memorial Auditorium in Massachusetts.

Axiom has his work cut out for him as he pulls double duty tonight, also competing in the NXT Tag Team Championship match alongside Nathan Frazer against Gallus. But first, he’ll have to deal with Oba Femi, who’s riding high after winning the Iron Survivor Challenge at NXT Deadline. Fans are already speculating this could be a brutal start to the show, with one Twitter user noting, “Femi’s about to put Axiom through the floor. Opening match will slap.”

This opening match adds even more fuel to an already stacked card. Trick Williams will defend his NXT Championship against Eddy Thorpe after Thorpe called Williams an “undeserving champion” in the lead-up to their main event clash. Frazer and Axiom will put their NXT Tag Team Championships on the line against Gallus, while Jaida Parker takes on Wren Sinclair in a heated women’s singles match. To top it off, Zaria and Sol Ruca will team up against Meta-Four’s Lash Legend and Jakara Jackson.
